  2. Live at The Moorings Bar on Saturday 5th November. Doors open at 8pm and entry is 3. The Desert Hearts Having completed their acclaimed debut album Let Get Worse for Rough Trade in 2002, Belfast-based Desert Hearts embarked on a year of touring and drinking until in mid-2003 they developed their relationship with recording engineer Andy Miller further by recording several new tracks, two of which emerged on Gargleblasts debut release Gravitas/Hammer and Frogs. A new album is in the works. They have recently supported The White Stripes, Bloc Party, Peaches and The New York Dolls. Miss the Occupier Forming in Glasgow in 2003, Miss The Occupier came from the shared influences of itchy punk-pop and nervy indie-rock, line-up coming from Roz Davies on bass and vocals, Magnus Hughson on guitar and vocals, and Ste Kelly on drums. Sticking to the three-piece ethic of small is good, songs are punchy, pacy and generally loud, keeping things tight and interesting with angular guitar lines and driving bass. Ste decided to leave the band in May 2005. He has since been replaced by Mr Derek Butters, a very wise choice. Ross Buchan Ross Buchan (ex Undertow/Cedar Rose) opens up proceedings with an acoustic set of material taken from his forthcoming debut album.

The Desert Hearts: Having completed their acclaimed debut album Let Get Worse for Rough Trade in 2002, Belfast-based Desert Hearts embarked on a year of touring and drinking until in mid-2003 they developed their relationship with recording engineer Andy Miller further by recording several new tracks, two of which emerged on Gargleblasts debut release Gravitas/Hammer and Frogs. Ste decided to leave the band in May 2005. He has since been replaced by Mr Derek Butters, a very wise choice. Dedalus: One morning a small mole said let there be light! and suddenly, Dedalus were born. This entirely true story of the bands origins accurately describes the shape and sound of a collective of people who can legitimately be described as people. Comprising of Papa Doomsticks on drums, Bob Shanobi on sloth guitar, Rusty Deathnail on suspenders guitar and Frankie Teardrop on bass and singing, they emerged from hibernation in mid-December after a protracted songwriting and rehearsing period. Described by one pundit as the darkness of Joy Division, the energy of the Pixies, the avant garde edge of Sonic Youth and the playful pop sensibility of Pavement, this person was almost certainly wrong. Playing sets of all original material and cover versions that they wrote, Dedalus were stunned and horrified to see audiences react with an emotion approaching stunned horror. Dare you be part of that experience?
