  1. yeah its all to do with context. block a is in a highlighted area where all the blocks are lighter, and its surrounded by light blocks making it look darker to your brain. Where as block b is in shadow making all the blocks darker, and its surrounded by dark blocks fooling you brain into thinking its lighter. Also the colour of text used on them both makes them look even lighter/darker. Basically they confuse your brain so it cant see the colours the way they are, their surroundings make them look like they dont match. There's one of these in BBC Focus magazine every month where is explains how they work in your brain, very intresting.
  2. Read this: Dan wasn't aware of the gig and couldn't make it due to prior commitments. Sorry, just seemed a bit harsh seeing as he did nothing wrong.

    Wow...

"Oh! Dreej I want with your to the WC!" "I want mix our DNA" I coudn't agree more! I owe you money by the way (havent forgotten!), gimmie a shout after friday, it shall be yours x
  4. i'm pretty sure it reacts with the inside of their stomachs and effectivly blows them up from the inside...
  5. Its miles better than the DOD artwork, but i guess i still miss the days of well drawn Riggs artworks. These CG arts they've been coming up with lately have been cool enough but always just lacking something, maybe its just a wow-factor or something, but i cant help but notice how all the skeletons in the foreground look really stuck-on. It reminds me a bit of the '2 Minutes to Midnight' art too... Although that could just be coz its eddie with a gun... Oh and for the love of god would they put the fucking spikes back on the Logo, it looks daft!!

    Wow...

Next couple of weeks actually, unfortunatly the old domain expired and unknown to us got snapped up by some big company who are likely to try and sell us it back for hundreds. So it may have a new address, other than that, the site itself is almost finished and as soon as we aquire a new domain it'll be up and running. x
  7. Happy Birthday trouble x (p.s. - hahahaha you were such a mess last night )
  8. Thats cool, especially the Tool interview, will certainly be tuning in for that. God bless the listen again feature, as it appears to be being aired at the same time as our weekly practice. One thing tho, will it be Adam Jones or Danny Carey joining him in the studio All the same, Cheers Daz, thats ace!
  9. That is FUCKING Gash! Is there anywhere else thats pretty decent for tabs, most the other sites i've been to dont have a rating system like MXtabs' and weren't nearly as well set out. Thats shit tho, i've always used MXTabs, end of an era.
  10. i think the little shits may of learned their lesson after the hours of boiling hot water and nailbrush treatment they probably went through to get that shit off their skin. Though i do find it kinda funny that the bigger kid has a massive smirk on his face while the little one looks like he was forced to eat emulsion possibly after having his face smeared in it. (it seems bizarrely staged tho doesn't it...)
  11. ....thats John Fishahnoo, tonight, on BBC2!
  12. Its all the news shorts i love so much, that and Alan Patridge at the Races. "Exploded Cardinal Preaches Sermon from Fishtank" "Welsh Minister in incomprehensible energy outburst" "David Owen emerges shattered from Oliver Reed." "Hope that's not a dead horse, you're not going to fit that in the back of a volvo 440.... actually... I hope thats not a dead horse..." Haha, just found a classic on Wikiquote: Chris: We're pushed for time, can you sum it up in a word? Spartacus Mills: No. Chris: A sound? Spartacus: Woouueerrrr. Chris: Spartacus, thank you. Classic! Anyone who hasnt seen this program is really missing out!!
  13. I REALLY hope they re-think the title on that one. It's unlike maiden to write something so blatant.
  14. Also i think i just figured where this whole thing about Meshuggah came from. In the "Albums to hear in 2005" issue of Kerrang, Danny Carey said the following:
  15. The Album went in at #4 in the charts this week! I know tool and tool fans probably won't give a flying toss about this but i thought it was pretty cool. On the lyrics thing, i fucking love tool for writing songs with layered meanings, like stinkfist. I think pretty much everyone would get the nod to anal fisting, but then theres things like the media desensetizing us to reality and how it's turning us into mindless drones. Although im sure different people can take a heap of different things out of it. It's just fucking ace. As for the new album, i dont really wanna get too into it on here, mainly coz i know how these things go with tool, some songs will take forever to click with me whereas some like Vicarious have been firm favourites since i first heard them. Tho i am rather enjoying Wings for Marie and 10,000 days at the moment. x
  16. I'm a total lightweight these days. working 6 days in the pub means theres only ever an hour max to get pissed after close. Does tend to lead to binge drinking, my body only knows how to go from 0-pissed in about 2 hours now. If i do go out drinkin after work, it'll generally consist of a few pints, a few jack n cokes, a few jagers then prolly home to a few more beers or jacks. Its hard watching everyone getting trashed for 7 hours a day without really badly needing that pint at the end of a shift. Although it was nice to wake up today for the first in atleast a month with a reletively clear head.
  17. Sorry ta be picky but Jager's 35%. Im completely convinced theres something in it that just pickles your brain.

    Wow...

...our forum has officially died a death! what are you guys up to? I'm bored and pissed. does anyone still read this old thing? We should have a new website coming very soon, hopefully followed by lots of lovely new songs and hopefully an album, tho we're talking christmas time before that happens. Hope everyone out there is well and still loving the metalllllll! Take care dudes x p.s..... Jager=Bad xxx
  19. You can get it in the oddbins at the top of bon accord street im pretty sure. I'd imagine a pretty standard 70cl bottle of spirits price, say £15-£17
  20. Thats tool tho, when i heard vicarious i was in awe of the guitar sound (especially when it comes in near the start), but the bizzare vocal lines and arrangements took a few listens before i even knew where i was with the song (if that makes any sense). It was the same when i picked up Lateralus. Fucking love it tho!
  21. my brain hurts from looking at that page for so long... I think it would be fucking classic if they had pulled the wool over everyone's eyes, especially after putting out a song like Vicarious all about being sheep to what it says in the media. Also the fact that the new logo looks like it says 'Fool', thats awesome if they are taking the piss, so blatant. Regardless, I got the single but i ain't getting the album until its on the shelves of one-up. Be it the one everyones heard before or something else, Vicarious is ace and im now looking forward to this release more than ever!
  22. If theres one band that could pull that off its Tool. Got the single, very meaty!
  23. So far it hasn't loaded past the bit thats on the website, after a few refreshes its not even loading atall. Gutted, i dont wanna 'aquire' the album, but im gettin pretty desperate to hear the single.
