  1. unfortunately due to other pressing commitments Element 106 will no longer be playing fudges 5th celebration bash at Dr Drakes on the 8th July. Good luck to all the other bands that do play and have a damn fine time!
  2. It will be a truely MEEEETTTTTAAAALLLL night, nevermind the other gig in Drakes, the morrings is warmer anyway! COME TO THE MOORINGS FOR A FEAST OF MULTI METAL ATTITUDE, and a pint and a laugh with tthe boys! Any takers, go on, we'll be gentle!!
  3. D immu Borgir and Cradle Filth are complete pish.
  4. I actually think that playing double bass to start with is a very bad idea! When i warm up, i usually start playing with my right foot only, then use my left foot for the same amount of time to warm up, once i've done this as you say into the slower 4/4 stylee drum beats and so on. Dream theatre stuff is actually great for every aspect of drum warm up to highly advanced stuff, but the time signatures get on my tits! Then after half an hour, into double bass slowly to get both feet working at the same power and same exactly opposite time! then go apeshite!!!!!
  5. Nah, spike never kills me, blastbeats are a piece of piss slowed down, but playing them at full chat is a bit of a nightmare if your not fully warmed up, it's so easy to go out of time when playing 32's with your hands!
  6. Hey man, if you mean movement, it's your knees, doh|!!! But i presume you mean that annoying "BUZZ" that we all get time to time. This is very simply caused by the snare strainer (Curly wires) that produce the snap on the bottom of the snare being too loose! It's simple to sort, just unscrew the bolts from one end of the strainer to loosen it, wind the tensioner screw anticlockwise as far as it'll go and hold the snare strainer as tight as you can whilst re-bolting up (make sure that the snare is also in the off position!!). Once all reassembled so to speak, with the bolts nice n' tight click the snare strainer back into the on position if you like! And rotate the screw clockwise hitting the snare periodically ubtill you like the sound of it, ! P.S> MAke sure that the snare skin as quite tight also! Hope this helps my drumming buddy amigo!
  7. Hey man, it's all good, just breaking sticks left right and centre at the moment, better get me self some new ones soonish - element have a bout of gigs coming int the next couple of week onwards! Need to get me some new pedals too, the iron cobra's giving up the ghost, mind you i have had it about 5 years, value for money i think!!!!!
  8. Dont be such an idiot, everyone has to start somewhere. I remember many a moon ago, being in a band desparately searching for a singer and almost giving up hope! Be more respectful to others everyone has to start some where:swearing:
  9. MMMM sounds like a Nick Barker favorite, it is kinda cheating, but you still have to be able to play that speed to start with! Just means you aint a consistent drummer at that speed! Which is hard anyway!
  10. Mapex orion maple custom every time. I used to have a tama kit which was nice, but made of birch so not so warm sounding as the mapex!! Although the Tama starclassic maple would probably sound just as good, probably equal to the mapex!
  11. Hawg, lovely stuff as Alan Partridge might say, it would be great to scare people at the spike gig tomorrow night with crazy effects!
  12. Damn right Emma, how did you know, was it my signature that gave away my un-denying love for the chaps?
  13. The "Best Heavy Metal Band" category in my opinion might be a bit bias, as The Atom are the only guys who really fit that category. There should be categories for best New metal (EMO?), Death Metal, Thrash Metal etc, ya get ma drift mins!
  14. Sorry to ruin all the good antics, but Scott, Risactonia, need i say more! This man melts drums, he bleeds over them, he destroys any piece of equipment with brutality. Whatever's left, get's bombed!! Needless to say i don't piss about with the sticks either!
  15. Nah, if you want to listen to a real drummers drum solo, you really need to check the masterclass drummers, ie. Gerry Brown, Dom Famularo, and most of all Dennis Chambers. The likes of Travis and Joey only really do fast tom rolls with a bit of double bass thrown in (at speed), but ther's no real structure, but then again any drum solo is always good!!
  16. Re: Re: Re: Friday 23rd @ Kef Shite?, typical Dave lowering the tone, need i say more, HA HA HA to you! You've taken what i said all wrong, never mind, i know it was a fantastic gig, the crowd reaction was kinda a sure fire gurantee of that! METAL!!
  17. You are a friggin Ho, why not pick up az 90" floor tom to go with your 6 foot bass drum?
  18. Hey dan, thanks i like those bands, but sorry i'm not too much a fan of Iron maiden, cough, cough, err i mean Black Atom, sorry to offend:swearing:
  19. Not too bad a review, but still quite alot of misunderstandings, and un-necessarily harsh thoughts, especially towards New-Faith, whom actually did a really good job of the covers that they chose, but on the other hand were covers that seemed far beyond their technical capability's, fair enough, at least they tried -VERY HARD. I was still quite impressed. The E106 review, now wasnt too bad as i thought you'd be really bitchy and ful of sour grapes, as you see we're doing so well without you, but a few points, Hog's over you now solo, represents nohing of what Ian played, it's a different part all together, and Marz was never a complete song, which we were never happy with. But this played a vital part in "strive", but as you rather unprofessionally put it "pasted together", it might have been noted that the part of marz was very different to the way it was played previously, AND THE TWO WERE SEEMLESLEY BLENDED TOGETHER without and noticable bridge! A bit of Un-friendly bias toward E106, but it has to be expected really, you looked like you really wish you were still on the other side of the stage!! LOL!! When is the next VOA gig anyway?
  20. Here here, DR Drake, Element 106 ready to go for the 17th, complete with new line up, more brutal than ever before. METAL
