  1. Dunno about that, but nice Portnoy/Terminator Avatar!
  2. Sore god-damn arm where the Friggin ride kept falling over mid-song!!
  3. 22" isn't really oversized to be honest, it's a standard bass drum size. But i wouldn't use a 22" bass drum, it'll sound shite whatever skins you get, they're designed for low down frequency and slappyness, not for producing nice tones like toms are, the difference in depth over the bass wooden bearing-edge hoop on a 22" bass drum is huge and of no use for consistent quality. TAMA do gong drums, which have a steel bearing-edge to vibrate when the skin is struck raising the volume considerably and keeping the stick-hitting level to that not so far off of normal toms! If you wonder what they sound like, check out the song "wicked" by Korn!!
  4. Dimmu Borgir - Anything really, it's a bit of a challenge to say the least Duran Duran - The Reflex in particular! Pearl Jam - Vitalogy Cradle of Filth - Vempire Anything to get my limbs moving a bit quicker without having a Ceasure!
  5. I assure you young callum, everything has timing, especially blastbeats, it all depends on your view of would non-drummers actually care if it was not in time, would they really be able to tell!! just playing fast with no real skill or technique. But i believe that everything must be played in correct timing and precisely as you like in the music's own Genre, without good timing, that to me does not make a good drummer, if any drummer at all. My thoughts are, only play whats within your ability, practice furthur, but don't try and play crazy stuff you can't manage live, because you feel silly if it all goes tit's-up and look rather gash!! Embarrasment nobody needs! Before any negative comeback, this is not directed at anyone, just like the Jerry Springer thought at the end of the show!!, Wise words!!
  6. It is if your precise and concerned that your keeping correct time, although true enough, it's not hard to randomly bash away if your not playing any particular rhythm. But yes i will be on crutches, and unable to write my own name after tonights madness!!
  7. Hey i'm letting you know in advance that i'll be filling in on drums for Spike this friday evening at Dr Drakes. And because the usual drum machine is not in use as of now, i will be stretched to the ultimate limit and beyond, so be patient if at best i sound a little of of sync, and in general, gash!! I'll do my damndest to play 6000 bpm!!
  8. No I wouldn't have said so, i reckon your more epic than most in the same sense of Iron Maiden ( not meant to be offensive), but i don't reckon your musical would suit being any heavier than it is, unless you changed the vocals and started doing death metal, but get rid of Joe? I think NOT!!!
  9. Here's what everything actually is! lEFT TO RIGHT Pedal1 - Remote hats Pedal2- Standard Hats Pedal3 - Master for left handed setup double pedal Pedal4- Slave for left handed double pedal Pedal5-Standard single pedal on right bas drum pedal6- Second remote hats on right hand side of kit! And there you go voila! What a strange pedal array, kinda like Dave Weckl's recent adventure!
  10. As of now, Dave has left Element 106 to proceed on with other band projects which i wish him best of luck in!!! Element 106 now require a dedicated, reliable singer who can growl and/or have the ability to do some harmonious vocals aslo, either way we need someone ASAP, to complete the line up once again. Regular gigs round Aberdeen, with the increasing likelyness of some major support acts in the future!
  11. Alas, Bill Kemp, the mysterious drummer who lived next door to me for a while, and formerly played with the Average White Band, is this the same man?
  12. Hey Cammy, my favourite dimmu song!! CAn just about play it, it's just the speed of the double bass at the start which is almost in reach now!! Either that or Hybrid Stigmata - The Apostasy, they played that before we went on stage at Moshulu on sunday night!! Excellent
  13. You can't do 1928 overture, i claimed that cover months ago! LOL:band:
  14. GASH - A term usually ussed to describe songs that are not to your liking, ie. Judas Priest LOL!!
