  1. Its a bit crap dont you think that for instance, the list of bands in the worst category are not all the same as in the best category and others for example, an unfair bias one might have said regardless of who is better! I know its all a bit of fun, but sort it out! The same bands should appear in every category to get a fair chance, failing that, ALL bands. You might think a band sucks, but you can only vote for them in the "Best band" category, mmmmmmm:down:
  2. You had it lucky mate, at least you could hear something, I couldnt hear a damn thing behind the kit, no bass drum, plus the hi-hat wasn't mic'd, and I had no monitors for a change, all in all resulting in some rather sloppy drumming for the first time in ages! I know, bad workman blames his tools and all that, but I think thats the worst I've ever played live in the 6 year history of the band! KEF just doesn't have the equipment required for a venue that size, and considering how many big name bands they put on, i'm a bitty worried! The mendeed drummer used almost every mic available in the building!! Musically I thought sounded pretty spot on, but then again, I was behind the kit!
  3. Is it just me or is that the wrong date? Shouldn't it be sunday 5th feb, not Tue 7th??(
  4. Well man, as both you and I have discussed in great length on a par to previous members leaving the band - Maybe not this simple but here we go - 1. Band get noticed 2. Band get signed 3. Band get pro recording that costs alot of money 4. Band get loadsa gigs at Drakes sized venues round Britain and the likes to a crowd of 3 etc. 5. Spend lots of time in a B reg transit with holes in the floorpan where the cabinets keep trying to escape through! Dont see loved ones for months 6. Fail to make any impact on the harsh crowds that we know so well, and yer up shite creek!! 7. No job, no fame, owe record company alot of money! 8. Spend the rest of your life paying back the record company by working somewhere shite for 1.99 per hour minus lunchbreak!
  5. Pretty decent, although I quite dislike the chorus, sounds like something that the Lost prophets have just churned out, just dont like the whole nicey nicey boys vocal duet type stuff, but its good for what it is I suppose in this day and age, its impossible to create something wholly unique, we all do it, just imossible to do something no-ones thought of before. F**KING amazing sound though, really tight!
  6. They're semi descent I suppose, Zildjian used to make a similar line called Scimitars before the ZBT which were very similar. They are made of Zinc, Copper and Tin, ( and Cast) but lack the Silver that goes into the more expensive Series, like your K's and K Customs,(lathed and hand hammered) hence the somewhat dull unexciting wash of noise, very short decay, and no decent primary tones. But it does say Zildjian on it, which makes it good to me! You should check out the cymbals i'm selling in the Trading section of this forum, couple of A customs crashes, blah blah, for next to nothing, in fantastic condition. Sounds you wont be dissapointed with!
  7. Not long after Adrian started thumping for Cradle of filth and Nick moved on to the mighty Dimmu Borgir from Cradle
  8. Legends from left to right, ICS Vortex, Nick Barker, and Mr Adrian Erlandsson What a nice line up!! Two quality drummers to boot!
  9. All pretty damn good condition i would have said - 16" Z series power crash - 45 14" A Custom Crash - 45 14" A Custom fast crash - 45 19" K Custom Dark China - 65 14" A Series Rock Hi-hats - 80 Mapex standard single bass drum pedal - good as new (yellow base plate). - 30 You can either PM me or contact me at - Wilkiechris@aol.com Genuine reason for sale:down:
  10. Ach well, at least someone thinks so:up: Maybe that vote might double to 2! lol
  11. Ach well, all feedback is good. But i would say there are some fair points there, we have been toying with the idea of a second guitarist for a while, but we are settled in our 4 piece outfit and have been for too long now to upset the balance. We used to be a five piece, and we actually sounded worse IMHO. We sound alot more raw now, but i admit, some areas could do with chunking up. Regarding the drums, something i take very seriously, all i can say is i'm no sound engineer, and once we start, i have no control over the sound of the drums or the band. It really depends on alot of factors, who the engineer is, what drumkit is being used, whether i'm having a good day or not, etc, no bullsh*t, just points of fact that affect all drummers, and musicians alike. I would say that i'm one of the rare drummers here who actually do go behind the kit and change tom tunings/ / bass drum tension before i play them, as they are critical to me playing the best, also i get the engineer to compress the bass drum sound considerably to get that warm slappy click that i love, i cant stand drummers who go behind a kit and play "as is" without making it their own because it will always sound not quite like their own thing! But there we go, just y perspective on the matter!
  12. Hey Mr Jim Bowen fan club member, here's the kit, i knew i still had this photo after all, and thats me looking like a right chufter sitting infront of it!! METAL!!!
  13. and element also playing a shorted set definitely benefitted them, as them WJ and SoM are all similarish sounding! I'm not sure if thats an acurate depiction Dan, sorry!! We have sounded better though!! Enjoyed MMW though, even though i thought i wouldn't!!
  14. Hog, shouldn't the thread title be "Pictures of MMW"?? LOL!! Great night, great bands, great all round charity affair, and excellent speech HAWG!!
  15. ALSO, CAN EVERY DRUMMER WHERE POSSIBLE TAKE ONE CYMBAL STAND, I'VE LOST COUNT OF THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I'VE HAD TO HANG ABOUT WAITING TO RETRIEVE MY EQUIPMENT BECAUSE SOME DRUMMERS TURN UP TO A GIG WITH NO EQUIPMENT AND EXPECT SOMEONE TO BAIL THEM OUT! I DONT USUALLY MIND BUT I'M GETTING A BIT BORED WITH UNPREPARED FOLK, ITS LIKE A GUITARIST TURNING UP WITH NO STRINGS TO ME REALLY!!
  16. Good idea, its amazing how this simple piece of furniture gets overlooked all the time!! I aint taking mine though, its too cumbersome to fit in the car!! Plus i usually end up bailing out EVERY drummer at most gigs we play as no-one ever takes any drum stuff!! !
  17. Actually gel face, Dennis Chambers could piss on Gene Hoglan double bass wise also, didnt you see that drum solo i had on VHS?
