  1. Shame i missed him LOL, at least theres some serious talent out there in this city, its nice to hear young uns playing their asses off, worrying to think how good they will be in ten years which is still 2 years younger than me!
  2. It would be nice to expect that we could actually get hold of you once in a while, or you may even respond to messages within 2 days regarding practices and gigs. I would have liked it for you to stay and joined in with what we all want, but you give no commitment anymore, turning for a practice once a month does not count as valid contribution IMHO. Nor does refusing to change shifts / take days holiday for gigs outside Aberdeen which we have all done at some point. Tony even left his daughters birthday early just to play the tunnels gig, and thats one of those special times not to be disrupted. You should not be posting your thoughts in this forum, as we saiid, phone us or PM us, neither of which you will do probably:down:
  3. I Know I'll get blasted for not taking criticism well, but drums are actually very in time when listened to through good quality sound setup, its funny you say that as when I listened back to it outside the studio I thought it sounded a bit ropey despite sounding amazing in the studio monitors! Drum sound was more electronic, still to be worked on in the mastered copy, having a fiberskyn on the bass drum made for an unusual sound, more acousticy but nevertheless good.
  4. eBay.co.uk: MAPEX ORION MAPLE CUSTOM DOUBLE BASS DRUM KIT (item 190080265953 end time 11-Feb-07 10:06:11 GMT) See the above e-bay link if your intersted, will accept only serious offers though if interested, Admittedly the reserve price is set a bitty steep, but hey theres a foooookin lot of gear for grabs WOrth thousands!!
  5. Ha ha, thats cos they aint blasts mate, just 4/4 played rather quickly, you cant though as you say hear foooook all because of the mix, not our fault actually!!
  6. Christ I'm handsome, nae luck baldy boy!
  7. This thread is still class, as usual, its not who's best but who's your favorite drummer! Or thats what the majority of replies would suggest!! But hey all drummers are good, except that nonce stuart cable who couldnt keep time with a friggin stopwatch! PISSSSSSSSS:down:
  8. Your not so bad yourself hotpants!
  9. No issue my good man, just flapping about, couldn't honestly be arsed who goes on where!! Its just not the greatest going on last when there aint anybody left to bother watching, but you guys pull the crowds in regardless so it should all be good!
  10. Does that sound good? Atom on last, err no not really
  11. BASICALLY ANY DRUMMER WHO PLAYS IN TIME IS GOOD, EVERY DRUMMER MENTIONED HERE IS GOOD, IN VARYING WAYS, LETS ALL AGREE TO DISAGREE, AS YOUR FAVOURITE DRUMMER IS ALWAYS GOING TO BIAS YOUR OPINION, BUT REMEMBER FAVOURITE DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN BEST, DEPEND WHICH ASPECT OF THE DRUMMING YOUR ARE JUDGING, SPEED, TECHNIQUE, STYLE, FLARE ETC, WHO GIVES A SHITE, THESE THREADS ARE ALL BOLLOCKS, SORRY HAWG!
  12. Utter shite, not by nature, funk through and through:up:
  13. Rock on :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :guns:
  14. Sorry, didnt mean to generalise that much, its very hard to explain what I mean by "cheating" it would actually be easier to show you in person. Listen to the initial blast beat in Dimmu Borgir's "Maelstrom Mephisto" if you have it, that is a blast beat of that speed played properly. Now to cheat and play it not so well, imagine removing one stroke from the ride cymbal hand, and playing it inversly to the left hand, thats cheating!
  15. Yeah, the dugaduga stuff can be boring, ie. listen to any slayer song etc, but it is usually in context with the music, look at nick Barker, NOT a stereo typical metal drummer, superb technique, unbelievable power, but very underrated as he plays so damn fast many "undeveloped" drummers might not be able to hear exactly what he is playing! But in that style of music, a blastbeat usually is a WALL OF NOISE, but hey it works well when played properly, i've yet to see any other aberdeen drummer successfully play one yet properly without cheating or being out of time (Badly), but admiration for trying, they aint easy to do PERFECTLY!. I think the thing to say here is, your hands and feet should NEVER automatically conplemant each other, you should be 4 way ambidextrous to play at the best of your abilty, alot of double bass drummers i see can only do duga duga stuff in time with their hands, but try playing 3/4 with your hands and 4/4 with your feet in the same rhythm, easy - yes, but not for most, people are too overly concerned with double bass speed these days and not technique. Alot of the element drum beats i play that used to be double bass, are slowly being ditched and replaced with doubles's, triplets, quadrouplets etc, because its more skilled, more fun to play and actually sounds more intersting!
  16. I think you and Jimmer should but alba stereo's from asda's electrical dept. and plug and play through them, that would sound lovely!!
  17. Surprise surprise, always got to be a negative sod when things are going really nicely!! Wish just for once you would show a little enthusiasm about things!
