  1. 2003 was the year to be there. Beach BBQ 1 and 2 were both well attended and muchos fun. Recreate 2003 and I'll be there. But if it's not going to be as cool, then I don't want to spoil my memories of it!
  2. Ron's Wednesday set is always the same. He has been told by the management that he has to change it. But he never does. He says he is "working on a new set." The thing is, most dj's make up the set by gauging crowd reaction whereas Ron has been playing the same set for around four years and has been "writing" his new one for the last month. The other day I asked him why he didn't vary his set and he replied that it was a shit night for it. I did suggest to him that perhaps it was his fault that the night was shit, due to people being bored of hearing the same set played week in week out. He stormed off. The sad thing is, I like the kind of music he plays. I'd just rather he varied the set a bit. I've offered to take over, but they won't let me. When you go to see Bryan Adams live and at the end of Summer of '69, hear in your head, the start of Living on a Prayer, you know you have worked too many Wednesday nights.
  3. would have been a great band if they didn't have such average (and worse) vocalists. Shame their last few albums were balls, but Alice In Hell and especially Never, Neverland were awesome. Jeff Waters must be one of the most underated guitarists ever. Still, they're not quite Testament Dan (not heather)
  4. That's ace, I love it! It's times like these, I wish I hadn't registered with the TPS.
  5. That song and also vampolka (they are kinda the same song really) are by far the two worst on Synchestra. That video is pretty comedy though. To anyone who hasn't heard Devin Towsend, i would reccomend Ocean Machine cos it kicks serious amounts of ass. Dan Atom (forgetting to log out again)
  6. I've been to La Tasca 3 times and I've enjoyed it although it is expensive for what you get. My favourite restaurants would have to be Poldino's, Yu and Chi. I also love Frankie and Benny's and although people have said they've had food poisoning from there, I still go there and have always enjoyed my meal. The service is also excellent.
  7. I just ate a very enjoyable boiled egg and felt the need to share the information with everyone.
  8. Well you kept hitting girls and pinching their asses. You slapped me across the face so I slapped you right back. I believe you also got kicked in the balls twice (not my doing although I congratulated the perpetrators) and then thrown out the Lemon Tree. Well done.
  9. Good! I've always loved that album, but it never got that critical acclaim
  10. I just listened to the song 'morag'. I wouldn't really say it's my thing - Because 8 and a half minutes of one drum beat (that sometimes stopped), 2 bass notes, the occasional guitar "riff" every now and again, and someone having a conversation with themself in the background, isn't really my thing.
  11. Busted, Son of Dork, Girls Aloud, Ashlee Simpson, Five and Britney Spears on the pop front. In the last couple of years, I have been to see Meat Loaf and Bryan Adams live and loved them both. I am going to see Bon Jovi in June - amazing!
  12. it appears to have caught chicken pox
  13. Strung Out. That would make me very happy indeed. To whoever wanted the Ataris, they have grown steadily worse in the 4 times I have seen them. They used to be my favourite band but over the last couple of years, their live show has gotten weaker and weaker and I never want to see them again incase I start to hate them. Also, a 7-piece Ataris with a string section? No thanks.

  15. I got my tickets 8) I can't remember where from though. However, I do know that it wasn't listed as Thrice on the ticket website and I had to buy under Coheed and Cambria. It does say Thrice on the tickets though.
  16. On Monday, at the SECC, I got my hand sliced open by a metal splinter which may have been a needle when turning on the tap in the toilets. I don't know if it was a needle tip or a metal splinter from the tap but my hand bled steadily for about ten minutes. Is this likely to affect me giving blood?
  17. I don't understand why people don't carry ID with them. Even if someone is not a student and doesn't drive or have a passport, it is not difficult to apply for a Citizen ID card. I tend to ID a high proportion of customers who come to the bar in my pub. In fact, sometimes I even go for a wander round the pub and ID random customers sitting at tables. Serving someone who later transpires to be under 18 is not worth an £80 fine, losing my job and the possibility of a criminal record. If you're over 18, carry ID with you. If you're under 18, don't be offended and don't moan that the world is against you when you don't get served. However, the under 21 policy seems odd. I use it to ID anyone who looks under 21 but will serve them if they're over 18. I didn't know some places won't even serve people who are under 21 (except some pubs on designated over 21's nights). That's pretty odd in supermarkets...Not that it affects me anymore though
  18. Scroge can supply stool drumming? I joke, I joke! Just warming up the banter....
  19. haha, Hog was close in that it says Marshall on the front! It's a 1960 lead 4x12. May eventually get a Mesa cab, although they are 900 and fucking heavy... and there's no guarantee that it would sound any better! (in fact i used a mesa cab at the SECC and it didn't actually make much difference) Dan (forgot to log out. Again)
  20. I passed about 4 years ago now and I'm not sure what my insurance is because I don't pay it...I don't even own the car, but I do know that it cost 7 to add Dan to my insurance, which seemed pretty reasonable. I'm sitting my minibus test soon...never driven anything bigger than a Fiesta so that could be interesting!
  21. I really really enjoyed it. It wasn't quite as clever as the first one, but perhaps if the ideas in Saw 2 had come first then we would all being saying the opposite. It did however leave me with too many questions about whether it would have been possible for any of them to survive. I think I've worked out the oven scenario, although if he had survived by my method, it would have been a lucky guess as opposed to a test. (I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet by explaining). I like to be left with a few things to think about after a movie, but perhaps not quite like this. I do agree that the acting was far less cringeworthy than the first movie though. I'm very glad I saw it and I will definitely go and see the inevitable Saw 3...
  22. I just listened to the recordings and was very impressed. See you on the 12th!
