  1. it was a joke, you git! But anyway, come over to glasgow and I'll slap you down with my awesome hardcore prowess. Or vomit on your shoes. Further note: Lightening bolt are ace!
  2. you're thursday! a commercial form of hardcore , you let the cash flow and convey your emotion through the always effective method of whining . you tend to scare away those with musical integrity , but girls are what you're here for.
  3. so does my flatmate. I've been trying to get a bad sound out of it for about 2 years now.
  4. man, you should get sound on sound, or visit badger's site.
  5. i like the bd421 for all-round stuff. You could always look around (sound-on-sound forums?) and see if you can pick up an nt-1 (not a) for that or hopefully a bit under. I just nicked my friend's nt-3 and it's amazing.
  6. would have been andy johnson as the guitar teacher, he's a monster guitarist.
  7. Software all the way! Get cubase set up with an asio capable card and layer as many cheesey devin ripoffs as you want.
  8. me and matt hooked up tcpip last night on his laptop, it was fucking ace working on the project at the same time with a shared monitor output, recording stuff and chucking it in.
  9. you can hook up multiple computers over tcpip on the same project.
  10. think sx2 is great, but there are little annoying things like editing the vst in the project window no longer brings up the vst instrument, and when creating parts, it zooms out to the full length of the piece.
  11. I wouldn't overclock it if it was just for audio, but I find unreal 2004 unplayable at less than 90 fps. From what my mum says your guitar playing is ace bryn!
  12. the audio consists of the delta 66 card, which has 4 balanced ins, 4 outs at 24/96 plus spdif in/out and the omni breakout box, which emulates a split mixer design, and has aux ins, fx sends, line ins, two nice mic/instrument preamps and direct out and monitor outs. Got it really cheap off the sospubs (.co.uk) readers ads. Using hardware sata raid with the promise chipset on the nforce 2 ultra, but it's really just for wank value. One drive'll go in the server when I get that mobo off neil.
  13. http://www.simulanalog.org I tried that out and compared the JCM900 model to my 900 combo, and it's fantastic. Digital hxc through a laptop!
  14. All right, that's a bit of a joke, but I just got cubase up and running, so I'm quite happy with the setup. 2.8 athlon clocked at 3.4, 240gb raid 0 with a redundant 80 gig for media and swapfiles, 9800se aiw gfx softmodded to 9800pro specs, lian-li small case, MSI nforce ultra board, just got the tv out hooked up to the TV tuner, the remote controls the mouse, winamp, dvds, tv etc. Delta 66 Omni (my baby), Midiman 2*2, NT1, BD421, behringer B1 and a seinhauser e845, behringer mixer, ns10 monitors, EX7 as a master keyboard (and some sampling). Cubase Sx2 with lots of plugins, ableton live, some free tracking software and soundforge, recycle and that. Some newmark decks and scratch mixer hooked up to the delta's aux ins. Lying about, les paul std, modded schecter, luce's 6000 double bass, classical guitar, acoustic, yamaha RBX bass, clarinet, 4-track, few pedals and an RP7 unit and a marshall JCM900 and peavey tranny amp. And Norm's bringing his V-drum kit (and nitefly? please???) up over the weekend to bugger about.
  15. not surprised, looking at that site!
  16. I had an ace book. Can't remember what is was called, but it had malmsteen playing flight of the bumblebee. 80s style. (note: Obviously, this book was at a standard far below my ability, so I gave up)
  17. www.adlib.org.uk/413X cubase style!
  18. Can anyone recommend any amp modelling plugins to play (and automate) a direct guitar input? I've got a delta omni now. It's my baby. Think I might be selling a 4 buss eurodesk rackmountable mixer if someone wants, too.
  19. umm, see if you can pick up the omni studio. Think that m-audio also just do a dual mic pre-amp thingy too.
  20. Our drummer in epsilon minus has a PRS McCarty and a parker nitefly. And a V-Drum/Tama kit. Utter, utter bastard. Think the value would depend on how much you got out of it.
  21. ebony fretboard, different finishes too. My standard still kicks though! Bryn, did you live over the back garden back home?
  22. just cuts off the signal at a given level, really simple, but it'd just mean the amp wouldn't actually distort. Like a really simple compressor.
  23. add a raised 9th to any pop-punk for instant emo. 6 4 2
