  1. There is still a ton of albums I want to hear from this year but so far it would maybe be something like this: 1. Tunng - And Then We Saw Land 2. 'Allo Darlin' - S/T 3. Paul Weller - Wake Up The Nation 4. Gorillaz - Plastic Beach 5. Sleepy Sun - Fever 6. The Imagined Village - Empire of Love 7. Midlake - The Courage of Others 8. The Fall - Your Future, Our Clutter 9. Caribou - Swim 10. Gil Scott Heron - I'm New Here think I've missed something but can't think...
  2. Frank Turner's gig at Lemon Tree tonight is postponed cos of weather
  3. I have since realised that face value was actually 26 each. So...2 for 50 anyone?
  4. Looking for face value (30) per ticket. Due to us choosing box office collection, not thinking the tickets wouldn't be needed at the time I won't be able to meet buyer until after 6pm on the night which I know isn't ideal but if anyone was thinking of going anyway and wants to avoid the booking fees and all that giz a shout. Ta kindly
  5. Kula Shaker's new album "Pilgrim's Progress" is very good (seriously) and I would recommend if you like Tame Impala
  6. Min Diesel for best newcomer (even though their first gig was Nov 2009, I think they missed the deadline to be considered for the 2010 awards)
  7. Correct, it was an impressive feat getting everyone to play across so many venues and stage times wasn't too far off from what I can tell. I thought it was really rude of Enigma (granted they let you hire it for free) to not let you shut the door when their music from downstairs was surely offputting to the performers upstairs
  8. If you like Tame Impala you should check out Sleepy Sun who do a similar sort of thing and in my opinion, one of the best albums of the year in Fever. Plenty of good psych comps about would prob be your best way to get into older stuff, in particular Nuggets (although a lot of it is more pre-psych garage rock). The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor Elevators, Love - Forever Changes
  9. Enigma was a disgrace. Whats the point of getting solo artists to perform upstairs if the dance music from downstairs is going to drown it out anyway? Alan was fantastic regardless. At Tunnels 2 I enjoyed Katerwaul and Carson Welles greatly as always and The Marionettes have improved a lot since last time I saw them.
  10. Tough choices! Eric Euan or The Scandal Extracts? Le Reno Amps or Kitchen Cynics? Will catch Carson Welles and Katerwaul at least...I quite fancy an excuse to get to the Blue Lamp for a pint too. Think I'll give Drummonds a miss though
  11. Had a good pint lately? Where from? I often feel like I miss out on good guest beers in places that have finished before I get there or pick less good drinks so post your recommendations on here. I particuarly enjoyed the 3 Floyds Pride and Joy at the Brewdog bar last night. At 3.80 it was a lot more than I would normally pay but being an American ale, I though I may never get chance to drink on tap again and I was not disapointed.
  12. How much is a pint of Gumballhead? I really want to try that. Anyone know all what beers are around the 3 price mark? I don't want to pay too much for any beer as good as they are
  13. You could buy them cheaper brand new!
  14. Thoughts on this? Flats were absolute rubbish. I understand why they are getting the kind of hype they are cos their negative attitude is "soo cool" in the same way Trash Talk were featured last year in the likes of NME, but I didn't enjoy them. If we have to wait ages between bands, would be nice for a bit of variety in the music and not the same album on repeat (even though it is a good album). Beer on tap seems to get worse. On the plus side, I thought Chapel Club and The Joy Formidable were both very good.
  15. That guy from the Volvic Challenge advert who says "I'm just gonna have a cheeky Volvic". Who does he think he is - Jamie Oliver? Knob!
  16. I think so but I believe you have to change at Doncaster
  17. GFN? has had not just one but two Lincoln bands to Aberdeen this year thus far! If any Aberdeen band gets the chance to play down there, it's a very nice town and good crowd.
  18. I thought this would be rubbish but it sounds quite good actually
