  1. There appears to be no thread about this but Johnny Flynn is playing Drummonds tomorrow (1st May) I can't quite decide between this and Teenage Fanclub (I'd prefer to see the fannies but its a bit on the pricy side) Anyone know what time Johnny Flynn will be on? Is there any local support?
  2. Dead End can no longer play this so unless any other band wants to fill the slot it'll still a superb 4 band line-up - Shields Up and The Paradox have both built up a reputation as 2 of the best live hardcore bands in Scotland
  3. Used it for Wizard two years ago. Was nice and cheap although daftly, we got this massive bus there when there was only 5 of us on the bus and then a tiny mini-bus which we had to squeeze 8 people in on the way back with all our stuff. No real complaints though...
  4. Katerwaul reminded me why they are my favourite band in Aberdeen right now. Superb!
  5. Login | Facebook You can tell all your friends that aren't cool enough to be on Aberdeen-Music/don't get out at the above link ^
  6. We're very pleased to have an extra addition to the bill: Aberdeen's Most Metal of Metal Band 2010 THRASHIST REGIME Thrashist Regime on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads (if a moderator could add them to the title thread it'd be much appreciated - cheers in advance Lucky!)
  7. Stupid curfews! I don't get why gigs finish early on Fridays and Saturdays when they are the only nights where people can get a bus after 11, then during the week people have work the next day, we're kept up late and have to splash out on taxis. I know this isn't IMPs fault and it goes for all gigs I just think the general times stink! EDIT: I just remembered I'm working at 9 next Saturday and this early finish suits me perfectly. I take back my complaint!
  8. Yeah I got a text about it at around 2pm about it, I didnt have a clue they were playing and had already plans. Looks like some of the "punx" showed up that dont come to the usual punk gigs from that vid. Was you aright Deeker? Hope you sorted him out!
  9. GFN? presents... Shields Up Positive hardcore from Edinburgh featuring members of Today We Fight, Bencozine and Taking Chase, for fans of Comeback Kid, Champion etc "The term Edinburgh hardcore may seem, at first, an one to use, but the confidence and energy of these five fellas quickly serves to assert themselves as a brutal force in their own right; one that could easily stand tall alongside their many US counterparts. Tonights set, comprised largely of cuts from the bands eponymous debut album, is delivered with biting precision, allowing every searing riff, blistering drumbeat and each scream, howl or chant to tear a hole in the small space they are afforded here this evening." - The List SHIELDS UP (Album Available in Avalanche Records!) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads The Paradox Glasgow/Fort William based metal/hardcore outfit in a similar vein to Freebase, Knuckledust, Hatebreed with a hint of rap. The Paradox feature Brian Jamieson (Damaged Goodz) who has opened for 50 Cent, Black Eyed Peas and Busta Rhymes. The Paradox have played with the likes of Scars on Broadway and have built up a reputation as one of the best live bands in the country. "Lethal in a live situation" - Vic Galloway, Radio 1 THE PARADOX (3 new songs up!) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads + Dead End Fun, energetic, old school hardcore DEAD END-(BOOK US!!) on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads 4 Star Sunday Emo-tinged pop punk - think Taking Back Sunday, late Blink 182 4 STAR SUNDAY on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads @ Tunnels, Aberdeen Sunday May 30th 2010 7.30pm, 4 entry GFN? Promotions on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
  10. I hear Veronica Falls are the support which swung this gig over Johnny Flynn for me
  11. Is there a support act tonight? Anyone wanting to buy a ticket off me at face value please give me a PM with your mobile number as my brother is in London and cant make it now
  12. Thats a bit soon, my brother has a ticket but he will be in London and I doubt my friend will be able to get time off work at such short notice, will they be able to get refunds?
  13. nope i didnt or I dont remember anyway...you should have said hello!
  14. No mistake, I walked out feeling both rather pleased with myself at my purchases and a little sick out how much I just spent after spotting lots of new additions to the sale on top of my newly purchased Springsteen, Sick of it All and Beatles vinyl
  15. I went to see that local wrestling promotion Wrestlezone the other week, anyone else seen it? If your a wrestling fan I highly recommend it, the quality of the wrestling was surprisingly of a very high standard for the most part (particuarly in the match between Mikey Morris v Damian, better than many matches Ive seen at live WWE shows). Promos were pretty often a bit cringeworthy but all in good fun and for 6 entry I certainly had no complaints. Check it out!
  16. What happened with Mayhem? They don't sound the easiest bunch to get on with...
  17. Does anyone know what time One-Up opens on a Saturday? I wanted to pop in before work to see what special releases they have (after the Springsteen and Sick of it All 7"s in particular)
  18. As much as I'd like to give Billie Joe a slap, Green Day's Dookie still does it for me like no other pop punk album I can think of
  19. Nah thats the Carson Welles/Maths gig.
