Down by the River by Neil Young Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden
  2. Really? From my experience Malt Mill were super-strict on age limits and made a lot more of a fuss about noise levels than any other "venue" in Aberdeen.
  3. The name of this clubnight caused a lot of confusion on Tuesday at Tunnels as people began to get excited at the prospect of American punk rock band Polar Bear Club coming to Aberdeen
  4. Assert are amazing live, The Dangerfields are always good fun and The Murderburgers are surely the best pop punk band in Scotland. Win!
  5. And to shake it up a little bit more we've got The Dogs Botox (fronted by Rapunzel Wizard) First band on just after 8 so get there sharpish
  6. I agree! Vessels were absolutely brilliant, I look forward to seeing them again although not to the same extent, I was impressed by And So I Watch You From Afar...I can see why people dont like them too though Oceansize had some good riffs but mainly bored me. I headed after half an hour.
  7. Quite alright! There is maybe 2 of our songs that is not in standard tuning. Im pretty sure Hijacks play in standard tuning though I could be wrong...

  9. I've decided to put The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant in at 8 and move everything else down. Not that anyone cares...
  10. You are correct, I dont know why as I dont even have The Dodos album, only connection is them both being on Wichita.
  11. By no means a classic but a really great pop album with some absolutely brilliant tracks on it (Life Itself, The Wrestler, The Last Carnival) and shows how many different styles he can do. Couple of dodgy tracks but flows really well as an album.
  12. In order: 1. Bruce Springsteen - Working On A Dream 2. Slow Club - Yeah So 3. My Latest Novel - Deaths and Entrances 4. Sonic Boom Six - City of Thieves 5. Madness - The Liberty of Norton Folgate 6. Arctic Monkeys - Humbug 7. Yeah Yeah Yeah's - It's Blitz 8. Franz Ferdinand - Tonight: Franz Ferdinand 9. Sky Larkin - Visitor 10. Bat for Lashes - Two Suns
  13. Can we pay on the door? Is it more pricy? What time is KC on? cheers!
  14. Mine was either Twist CD single by Arnold or Further by Geneva when I was 11. Damn I had good taste as a youngster.
  15. Nah this is nowt compared to last year's argument over best indie...I think it was between Kartta and Kashmir Red?
  16. Cobra Kai really impressed me last time I saw them so they get my vote, although Eric Euan are always good.
  17. I wasn't going to get involved in this, it's all a bit silly really and I quite liked Heller State - we at GFN? have put them on a few times now. I dont think there was a single point that Shaki made that was serious really, I can't see how anyone thought he was being bitter, and it's all a bit pointless when you consider most of the votes end up taking place at The Moorings and Brothel Corpse Trio will end up winning (sorry to be a cynic on the whole awards but that's how it is). However, I don't think any of your points are valid really. We don't sound like Rise Against (imo anyway), we don't play a kind of hardcore that is popular (its not like we have keyboards), most of the posts in this thread have came from people that aren't even in e2v and I really don't see how playing Aberdeen more than us counts for anything...I mean Copy HaHo don't play Aberdeen much, does than mean they deserve less credit in the indie category than say Lady Mercedes? (no offence to Lady Mercedes, I just picked a band that play often). We could play Aberdeen every week if we wanted but don't really see the point
  18. I refuse to believe anything could have better than Springsteen @ Hampden in July. runners-up: 2. Neil Young @ AECC 3. Jeffrey Lewis @ Tunnels 4. Slow Club @ Tunnels 5. Mark Morriss @ Tunnels Most gutted I missed Bert Jansch at Jazz Cafe in London the night I was down there
  19. Word on the street is The Skints has cancelled as the van has broke!
