  1. Running order is I think: 8pm - Carson Wells 8.40 - Escape to Victory 9.20 - Apologies, I Have None 10.05 - Min Diesel
  2. Haven't figured out running order just yet but I believe it's to be an early finish (shall get confirmation on this today) so it'll likely be: 8 - 8.25, 8.40 - 9.05, 9.20 - 9.45 and 10 til 10.30 the slots
  3. Facebook this one: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=185149671521311
  4. Punk gig at Tunnels next Saturday: Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More featuring the excellent Apologies, I Have None from London. 14+ welcome
  5. Only two bands (Indian Red Lopez support) so you'd imagine not too late. Unless Indian Red Lopez go on at 9.30 or something stupid
  6. I've only seen two of the films mentioned so far: Carlito's Way and Night of the Hunter but would highly recommend both, especially Night of the Hunter! Not really an obscure film, but Gran Torino is one of my favourite films ever. It's similar in plot to Harry Brown (an old war veteran gets even with kids of today) but lacks the over the top violence and isn't grim for the sake of grim. Really funny in some parts and one of my favourite movie relationships between Clint and the kid
  7. any word on the support? Was hoping it would be Found but they seem to be doing all the tour except for Scotland strangely
  8. I pretty much love everything that fits into this category. I've got an amazing compilation CD called Gather In The Mushrooms: Acid Folk 68-74 I think and it made me want to seek out each band on it further. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover this genre as you can get it for about a fiver.
  9. GFN? presents... (our first event in ages!) Apologies, I Have None: Folk-punk from London, for fans of Against Me! and Frank Turner. Apologies, i have none | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos Apologies, i have none Carson Welles: : Excellent screamo/math rock Carson Wells | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos Escape To Victory : Melodic punk rock/hardcore Escape To Victory | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos Min Diesel: Self-proclaimed "mindie rock pioneers". 10. will Zombina be on about 10 or earlier? We're trying to book E2V practise to ensure we can catch this
  11. Just discovered that TNA is on Freeview now (Challenge, channel 46). The show Impact is a bit dodgy but they seem to be showing the PPVs for free (Against All Odds was on the other night) which is ace cos it'll be first time I'll have been able to watch wrestling reguarly since Channel 4 stopped showing Sunday Night Heat
  12. anyone know who the support is? I think it was meant to be Ed Harcourt and Dive Dive before it got rescheduled, not sure if it still is? Can't find anything online
  13. the 2nd night of our "Moorings Bar" residency is this Friday! Expect a slightly longer set...
  14. I witnessed one member of Johnny Skyscraper filling in a pile of voting slips one after the other at Moorings last week. And now their nominated for best band and worst band...hmm! I wonder if they decide all the other awards too. They must be desperate to win this!
  15. It's already on the Fudge forum, but incase people don't read that, Escape To Victory play our first gig since August with a new line-up, Fri 4th Feb @ Moorings I think we're on about 10pm although Fudge DJs will be playing boss tunes from 8pm and it's 2 entry. If you haven't heard us, we play punk rock. One promoter described us as: "In-yer-face positive melodic hardcore punk from Aberdeen in an Ignite/Strike Anywhere/Kid Dynamite stylee. With a distinctly north-east take on the mid-90s Epi/Fat skatecore sound, look for lashings of fist-in-the-air punk rock love, double-time and gang-chants aplenty." Escape To Victory on Myspace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Welcome to Facebook Facebook event for this: Welcome to Facebook
  16. I thought it was a bit uncomfortable to get a decent view/couldn't carry a pint up stairs for fear of spilling on someones head and not really convinient for wandering about for catching up with people between acts. The toilets had a funny smell. That said I do like the look of the place, I liked the music and I liked the beer (although not the prices which were actually more expensive than Brewdog). I think I'd have preferred the whole night if I came early and got a good seat though
  17. In the Independent today Mama Roisin feature in the "things you must do this week!" bit. I'm pretty tempted
  18. Lemon Tree is 200% better since Steven started working there (+ Trashy Blonde on tap = best venue at the moment)
  19. I feel ignorant asking but where is/what is Project Slogan?
  20. I put a gig on there before and they were total knobs about noise levels.
  21. Aye it was a boxing day release though I saw it in Jan 2010 and enjoyed it very much. Still wouldn't give it a placing in my top 10 I doubt though...
  22. As usual, I've not got to the cinema anywhere near as much as I'd have liked this year but it's been a pretty good year for films. What are your favourites? In order mine are: 1. Toy Story 3 2. Red 3. Alice in Wonderland (I don't really know why everyone hated it, it was exactly what you'd expect from Tim Burton - visually stunning, strong script - I really enjoyed it) 4. The Road 5. Invictus 6. Kick-Ass 7. Iron Man 2 8. Heartbreaker 9. Green Zone 10. Up In The Air (A good film although I don't think quite worthy of the five star reviews it seemed to get)
  23. I actually started eating Quorn burgers as a kid cos Ryan Giggs endorsed them and if you collected 4 packs you got a Giggs t-shirt. Worked on me as I'm now a vegetarian
