  7. Other online places: http://www.thebassgallery.com/index2.html http://www.soundslive.co.uk/ Soundslive I`ve used about 5 or 6 times... You can phone up and order if you don`t want to buy over the net. The service is absolutely fantastic. If your item is out of stock people consatantly phone you to let you know how theyre chasing up orders etc. They clearly are very busy but yet take time out to do this... Nice one!

    S.t.u.n.

They are rubbish.. Over hyped R.U.B.B.I.S.H... I bought the album based on a few reviews and I liked the sound of the journalist`s patter. It`s naff They are a second rate International Noise Conspiracy... The singers lyrics are more obvious than a backstreet boys dance routine and equally as inpressive underwater. Bollocks to all this..... But any INC album and stick the STUN album in the bin... It`s not bad but it`s about as memorable as an exhibition of grey are in Aberdeen. Lights Out Mofo!
  14. Music has changed in the past year.. The backlash against "Nu-Metal" has seen things take a distinctly Underground feel. Arguably this was a good thing as Nu-Metal was basically the first ever fully major sub genre of Rock music . Almost every band being on the same label and all owned by the same company. Music has actually gotten heavier although at an underground level. Loads of acts are pushing boundaries and producing music that is "heavy." At the same time Rock music is very much in the mainstream as the dance market bottoms out. Basically the last BIG Metal album was System Of A Down - Toxicity, even though the latest Linkin Park album has sold 7million+, and the last BIG "Punk" album was The Offspring - Americana.... These are meerly trends in music and the current trend is a metal tinged version of Original or US Hardcore. Bands like Killswitch Engage and Poison The Well are making records that open the minds and combine many different sub genres. You also have acts like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, and even Aconite Thrill who play very complex metal with many jazz time signatures and different drum breaks. It`s funny because if you take Refused... Arguably one of THE most influencial bands on the current crop of hardcore bands. The last time they played in London they played in a club called The Metro to about 30 people. They have split up and all gone on to do other things BUT if they were to reform and book a one off gig at The Brixton Academy, they`d easily sell it out. The new Superjoint Ritual album is probably The Metal Album i`ve enjoyed the most for a long time although I`m more of a Hardcore/Jazz fan than other genres but am fully appreciating the Techy side of the metal scene. I feel that at long last the UK metal scene is kicking some ass and showing that you don`t need to have a Californian accent to shift units and get your bands poster on the walls of angst ridden teenagers.... There are lots of heavy acts out there. You just need to go hunting and know where to look.
  15. The Download track is quite good.. They have a new singer and are recording tonight with him apparently.... Expect to see them in Aberdeen next year...

  21. Eric Euan.. Been saying it for years.. Would have been there also if I didn`t have this damned cold and a hectic weekend....
  22. Totally understand where you`re coming from... Generally play the current underground stuff also.. "EMO" and all is very much into the mainstream now and it`s what is plastered all over music magazines and the likes. When I started "NU-Metal" was the underground (even though it was all major labels and the likes) and thus I played Papa Roach and Linkin Park and all long before they released singles over here.. Bond*age is totally across the spectrum of music to an extent.... Mainly Rock and guitar alt music in the main room as well as jazz, blues, easy, Motown, Soul in the back room... I thought the atmosphere on Friday was fantastic..... Still suffering today from jumping around like a looney.. I agree that they whole "Metal" thing is a bit lacks at the momment but there hasn`t been a comercial metal band to come out that`s of any cop to be honest..... Not one that`s going to shift units and buck the trend.. New Machine Head sounds promising and the new Sikth and Super joint Ritual albums are totally brilliant but hardly going to scrape the top 40 . I reckon the scene that will be big in about a year or 2 will be "indie" again... I use the term loosely but it`ll definately be a factor. The last major selling "punk" album was Offspring "americana" and there hasn`t been as album that has dented the dancefloors since..... It`s just the way the music industry works.... when the next trend comes along chances are I`ll be playing it before most and sick of it by the time it becomes mainstream but heh.. you can`t win em all....
  23. This week i`ve mostly been listening to: Bad Company: Inside The Machine Roni Size : Touching Down Radio 4 : Gotham! Sikth Shouting Myke
