  1. Never considered it bitten... You shouldn't get personal though, not that I took it as such! School expectations are different from that of higher and further education. Fret not at this point! All will come out in the conceptual wash! Jim (hoping to leave memories when the time comes)
  2. Did you not read the one above yer post... I was being ironic (keep it quiet, I'm an artist, you know what folk are like on these boards). I was establishing one of the reason why art is vital. It raises debate about what culture is and stands for in any given time period. Thanks for biting! Good luck with your folio by the way. Always a trying time second guessing what you feel or have been told an art school is looking for... Go with you gut instinct and do what you do. Individuality is what they seek!
  3. Wooohoooo Hi Shaz... We must have the biggest office in Aberdeen! We are miles apart!
  4. Bare with us We are beginning to get used to the idea of asking others and answering to others. We miss the autonomy, not too much though.
  5. We didn't but we have now! It will infact be an over 14's gig. It will be finished relatively early so no conflict with any clubs that may be on. Not that it is an issue but when the gig is finished all under eighteens would have to leave. Same as Drake's! Jim
  6. Grammatical error in the above! A conjunction ( coordinating conjunction) should not be used at the beginning of a sentence! tsk tsk Remove 1 scene point from self! I did it twice!!! Cheesh... Back to School Jim... If only (wobble wobble...dream sequence)
  7. Not Bitching Or Being Pedantic But if you are going to use a music forum to promote your band then I would suggest that you 'do' consider your English usage! Bad grammar and spelling do not instill confidence. And that was me under Dr Drakes by the way. Twas a valid point. J
  8. One or two of Steven Segals early efforst before he got fat and now they only show his face up close in fights... Huh? Much of Brandon Lee's fights were a joy of reality and choreography! There is one film in particular but I will edit later when it comes to me. (Man this wasteland is odd turf for me) J
  9. Pah Art shmart...it's all nonsense and irrelevant. Makes no sense to around 98% of the population and causes nothing but debate and irrate discourse based on why and what it's all about! I for one can't think why anyone would choose to study art!!! Go get a job and give something useful to the country! Jim
  10. Hmmmm Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury... I will draw your attention to the use of the word 'drastically', an interesting and easily misconstrued terminology...
  11. And If you do send a cd and don't hear anything... Take it as constructive criticism, honestly, do! Jim (contemplating hair transplant)
  12. Not sure if posting on here is the best or most professional approach to getting a gig! Jim (no longer having to listen to dozens of bands cd's)
  13. Dangerfields are from Belfast... Not an Aberdeen success by any stretch of the imagination.... Top band and have more energy for the gigging circuit than most of us lot up here put together and fed Red Bull. Jim I'm bored of the best this and the best that... We are all shite! My Mum said!
  14. Freezer section of Makro! Voting slips attached to each packet of crinkle chips and chicken nuggets! Nominations are being accepted for venue where cold nipples are least likely to settle... Same nominations for happiest male punters in the town!
  15. That kinda talk woulda got you sacked, but sadly all I can do now is shout 'BALDY COOT!' LONG LIVE FRIDGE! Say the Staccccatttto Sett
  16. Hehehehe Bri... Want Shaz to get you the support acts too? Couldn't resist
  17. ... Local band + Souncheck = Rehearsal (more often than not) Line check should in fact be enough... Go to T in the Park and listen to every band soundcheck?! Don't think so... By the way Drake's was blessed with a perfect room for any sound and a good sound was usually down to the band knowing what they 'should' sound like, it helps. Most touring acts couln't be arsed with an lengthy soundcheck unless the set-up was complex. Even then it was an extended line check... '1234 fraaang crash wallop fiidang' plink "Fine guys! Now lets go eat, we've been in a bus for 8 hours". Jim
