It's one of those things - There was a post on the aubl.net/forum board about Logh looking for a date in Aberdeen on the 4th or 5th of February which was posted on the 13th of December, but neither myself nor Gary noticed it until it was too late. I wasn't aware of the gig hook-up forum until Rico posted about it on the 11th of this month, by which time it was too late. Just One Of Those Things, although it is a great idea for a forum now I know to read it more EDIT - Not that it's really a problem, seeing as Drakes is closed and no other venue would really have done them justice.

I'm excited, but I'm also gutted no-one noticed Logh were looking for an Aberdeen date - Poohsticks. Well, going to go to Glasgow to see them anyway (Thanks mmd040!).

Buglass, please turn up tonight! The best advice I can give is turn up early, because it is a small venue and if last night was anything to go by it may well be pretty packed. You'll be more than welcome, and plus it's Piney Gir! If you miss out you'll never have discovered the joys of Dr Drakes, even if it is just for one night, and that's more of a crime.

Since Drakes announced it's closure there's been something for everyone on at Dr Drakes - Popped in last night and the place was packed out for the Fudge Night, Stayover had just taken stage and things were sounding sweet. Tonight it's the turn of the electro-bounce set, from oddball hand-held electronics to indie-synthpop sweetness and electropunk bile: Motormark (DHR Records) + Piney Gir (Truck Records) + Aberdeen 4Bit Crew (Nintendo?) Doors eight-pee-emm to fuck-knows-when, 4 DJ's Alun & Jaymz Elizium playing anything from Country to Techno. If this aint your thing, Saturday night is wall-to-wall metal talent, Sunday is rock'n'roll/psych/garage and Tuesday is the last ever night and the acoustic open mike. No excuse not to find something you'll like at Drakes this weekend, so just go!

Truely devastating news. I wish Sharon, Jim and everyone else at Drakes the best with their respective plans from now on. I'm going to miss the place sorely - It totally reinvigorated my enjoyment of living in Aberdeen. So many great bands, fanatical promoters and the best staff too! Aint anything else in Aberdeen that's going to come close to filling the hole. From holding up plaster board, scrubbing toilet floors, pulling pints, DJing, promoting, drinking to watching bands It's been a hell of a great experience. Thanks all!

That's a pisser - Although we've organised a gig at Drakes we were keeping Piney and Motormark back late so people could still go see Aerogramme first. I know a lot of people will be gutted about that, but on the really, really selfish upside I'll at least get to go see them when they reschedule (which better be on the cards).

He played the recent Synergy night at Drakes as Beastman, garnering praise for his unique stage costume. Doesn't really upstage what he uses to make music, though. Suffice it to say, he's an excellent addition to the bill!

Due to the Videos being unable to play, support for Piney Gir and Motormark now comes from the Aberdeen 4Bit Crew. Yabba-dabba-do and bleepy computer game antics a go-go!
