  1. There's similar things under Bridge Street, presumably the same reason why there's similar rooms and 'streets' under Edinburgh - Most of the streets are built higher than the original ground level to meet with other roads (in Edinburgh this is due to the affected streets being mainly on a hill) so they either 'encompass' old buildings or the space underneath them has been utilised by the buildings.
  2. ... and a bottle of the house white, please.
  3. Tunnels have two rooms they can use for gigs, which may be the solution.
  4. One finds that Vivaldi's Motezuma coaxes the stubble to lift, allowing for a closer shave. Seriously tho, the frequency that I shave means it does become a big event. And once you've got a routine... 'I use habit and routine to make my life possible.'
  5. A overly hot bath first, then Mach3 with a combination of King Of Shaves oil topped with a Gilette Sensitive shaving gel. For afterwards, some Body Shop afterhave gel that tastes foul (should you want to taste it) but works wonders - Sadly now discontinued. I hate shaving, it's taken me years to develop this routine to prevent face explosions. As for those new-fangled five-blade razors, load of balls. First time I used the single blade on the back for trimming my top lip I managed to cut myself five times under my nose when the phone went off. Also, the plastic joint of blade to handle breaks really easily - Which means 2 out of 2 blades I've tried have popped off whilst shaving.
  6. Really, really excited about this gig! Neptune were jaw-droppingly great at The Tunnels, can't wait to see what it's like in Peacocks.
  7. Ooocha bastard, if the last week and a half is anything to go by yer all in for a treat tonight!
  8. Wow, not only are The Handsome Family playing the LT this month, but next month the Willard Grant Conspiracy frontman, Robert Fisher, is playing! Thursday the 30th of November at the Lemon Tree. Nice one!
  9. The man who invents those decks will be rich, RICH I tell you! As long as they play real CDs, and not just MP3 ones or control a laptop. And also have cool flashy lights. And maybe a good seamless loop. And pitch shift with key lock.
  10. Nae idea, I'm afraid. Mebbe Jimsin or Flash can clear times up.
  11. Manga-fuelled robots from Tokyo are set to invade The Moorings on Friday the 20th of October, crushing everything in their path with their industrial punk music and seducing with the sweet, sweet voice of Nekoi Psydoll. You can witness the complexity of Japanase built cyborgs for absolutely free (thanks to The Moorings) whilst also enjoying the twisted DJ stylings of Jimsin and Forysthia Supernaut. Keep your eyes open for J-horror artwork in an exclusive show from Japan's Senno Knife manga house. Psydoll, for free, at The Moorings as part of Supernaut - Friday 20th October. Sweet!
  12. Straight from Tokyo, Psydoll will be playing The Moorings on Friday the 20th of October for absolutely free! Yep, that's right - For the vast sum of zero pounds you get to catch manga-fuelled industrial punk imported from Japan for your pleasure! Female-fronted cyborg action for you, for zilch, thanks to everyone's favourite pirate bar. Supernaut DJs Jimsin and Forsythia will be keeping you all entertained with their record collections, plus keep an eye open for the exclusive gallery of J-horror manga artwork from Tokyo's Senno Knife. Japanese companies (including SONY, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Sanyo and Panasonic) usually use the word "DOLL" to name their production robots for military, business and home use. However, PSYDOLL (Psycho-Doll) are illegal robots manufactured and remodeled without proper licenses and with enhanced abilities unlike other "DOLLs". DOLL products have become quite common in everday life. However, since DOLL products can endanger humans, high security standards have been established among leading nations. On the other hand, the efficacy of PSYDOLL is questionable due to its illegal nature, which may result in serious accidents. In fact, 30% of recent fatalities in Japan were reportedly caused by PSYDOLL. Therefore the Japanese government prohibits illicit manufacturing and remodeling of PSYDOLL by severe penalties. Since PSYDOLL can be purchased at reduced rates because of its low production costs and can still significantly satisfy personal tastes, the illegal production and street sales continue. PSYDOLL must be reported to the proper anthorities upon detection and will be disposed after seizure. Specific types of PSYDOLL have already been placed on the wanted lists of the police and photos have been displayed at police boxes and airports - just like runaway suspects from radical political and religious groups. While replacement of PSYDOLL parts, including face and body, is easy, most of the wanted PSYDOLL do not particpate in such replacement of their original face, apparent age or sex, since specific individuality is programmed in these PSYDOLL. Therefore, most PSYDOLL are on the run, disguising themselves and using a false identity just like human criminals. Meanwhile, even in official type DOLLs, defects are sometimes discovered after distribution. Although recall notices are announced for such DOLLs,some of them escape recall or destruction by unknown methods. Such DOLLs are also placed on the police wanted lists and sometimes referred to as PSYDOLL.

  14. Yes, yes it is useful. Ta! So wish I could make it down tomorrow night for Casiotone for the Painfully Alone - Hear he's touring with a band these days, would be good to see.

  17. We need more information, like a name! If any promoter ever gets offered The Dead Brothers on tour, then let me know!
  18. Neptune were phenomenal last time in the Tunnels, really cannot wait for this gig!
  19. I believe they aren't playing, but Mart from : ( will be DJing a wild, wild set of many great songs. At least, that's what he told me last night.
  20. Thought I'd resurrect this thread (albeit probably very briefly) because I got my grubby mitts on the last Firewater album I was missing - ""GET OFF THE CROSS (We Need the Wood for the Fire)" "The Man On The Burning Tightrope" is still their best album, in my opinion. "Psychopharmacology" I'd place as the next best after that - The title track is constantly stuck in my head, plus the whole album has some brilliantly observed self-depreciatory comments that tickle me. The least essential is probably the most recent album filled with covers, most of them just don't sound very exciting or as musically rich as the other albums. Oh well. So, um, yeah. Firewater. Top notch. Also, link to shop in America you can get the albums / listen to samples available by clicking here. Although, having said that, you can grab most new via Amazon shops or eBay for much cheaper.
