  1. really need your help, i need to get the address of the lock-ups down from Drakes. I won't be able to get down to check the address and i need it for tonight. This is for a uni project where i need to have a premises for storing, so any details on this would be great
  2. i could hear blaze playing from Rileys pool place behind Moshulu, thumping bass like
  3. Just to clear up a few points. Cherrykicks played the Glasgow heat with us last year, not edinburgh, they had the biggest support there, were very good, and Dave Cherrykicks was very pleasant. T-Break cover the travel expenses for bands that have to come from afar. Plus put you up in a hotel for the night if you're coming from the likes of Elgin. Each band get a case of beer, and yes it is warm pish. T in the park give each band member a free pass for the weekend, and give you 5 other free weekend tickets for your mates. You get access to the hospitality area, free beer, and 75. Most of the times i was in the T-break Tent at T in park last year it was surprisingly busy. We had a pretty massive crowd when we played, despite clashing with Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol. But we know loads of folk from Elgin and Aberdeen who promised they would come along. Took a photo from stage at the end, and you can't see any gaps in the crowd from front to back. You fo get A&R folk showing up at the tent, but it is usually only to see bands that they already have an interest in. You also get the occasional rock star, as we had Idlewild come down to watch our set, due to us meeting them at the T-Break Seminar and giveing them a cd. All in all its an enjoyable, cheap experience. I understand why a lot of the bands who didn't enter chose not to, but i feel that they shouldn't moan about the results or slag other bands off because it doesn't match their opionions of who should and shouldn't win.
  4. i'm glad major major got in, they were phenomonal when i saw them last, Turning 13 totally deserve to get to the final 12 as well easily in the top 3 Aberdeen bands at the moment
  5. since this whole Kurt Cobain death anniversary has come round again, here's a thought. which bands do you miss not being around now? mine would be - Far Refused Symposium Rage Against the Machine New End Original The Smiths Purple Munkie
  6. I think my first Drakes experience was when Small Enclosed Area played the Lemon Tree (with Purple Munkie, Josephine and Festr i think) and the after show party was going to be at Estaminet, but no-one had told Estaminet or something, so it was re-routed to Drakes. Me Marshall + Toonish were all very hammered, have very vague memories of Al Nero playing Monkey Song, some girl with a very loud voice singing Metallica while Martin played acoustic guitar. Went to the fairground while we were still pissed a few hours later, Toonish was sick on one of the rides!
  7. Sonmetimes all it needs is one guitar, we tried it before with bass + other guitar playing, but it made the whole piece sound too busy and messy. We're a band who constantly criticise our own music, and we felt that having a minimalistic approach to that part of the song suited the vocals. We totally appreciate your comments though, in our opinion we could have played better, it was a hard set for us to play as we haven't had a gig in about 6months due to recording and writing commitments, hence why we looked awkward on stage. This will improve once we have had a bit more gig experience under our belts in the next few months. For anyone who enjoyed us, we are playing Fishstock on April 17th at Dr Drakes
  8. excellent, cheers for the help. We aren't actually going to launch this properly, we just have to draw up a business plan that indicates what we'd do if we did. If you want, once we've submitted it, i can give you a copy so you can have some random information and marketresearch/survey results, might give you some help dhould you decide to go through with the idea. - Ross x
  9. if anyone would like a ticket PM me tonight or early tomorro, and we can meet you in HJBs at 6.45 or something just before the gig I leave uni at 11.30amish on friday, so i don't have access to computers after that. so PM before that
  10. Hey, Need a bit of help for a Uni Project, thought you guys might be able to help. I'm needing to know what licence a mobile bar service (i.e. A company which provides drink and a mobile bar structure to garden party's, corporate events, etc etc) requires. Will they need a temporary licence for each venue that they visit, or is it simply a licence that covers the mobile bar itself. Any help would be totally appreciated. Cheers RossP
  11. make sure you are there early as we are on at 7.30pm, new song to kick off the set too, so get there super early
  12. aye, haven't seen you in yonks Donnie. we're playing April 17th at drakes if you're in town RP
  13. You guys might like an Aberdeen band called Small Enclosed Area if you are big fans of Tool. #cough# think they are playing Moshulu this friday with Hiding with Girls and Christiansen, Doors 7pm, Onstage 7.30pm. I feel quite filthy for plugging, so my Tool choice would be Sober and Eulogy Do you guys do any Perfect Circle songs? that would be pretty ace if you sneaked one in..
  14. The flyers i've got say some tickets will be on sale in One-Up, not sure when they'll be in though
  15. looks like we will be playing the 3 new songs. One final practice tonite to make sure we're tight as a mosquito's bumhole. Also putting Keiths vox through guitar pedal which is making some funky fucked up sounds, there's a very good chance we will all be going out in moshulu to get hammered afterwards as well, fun fun fun!!
  16. RGU and FOM will be flyered and posterd to fuck this week. Going to get so hammered after we play, canna wait!!
  17. Shit!!! They are still one of the best live acts i have ever seen, fuck.
  18. its an amazing weekend for gigs!!
  19. I know someone who that happened to!! He was hammered, and a bit of a mink anyways, so he thought nothing of going down to the docks for a bj. thing is she managed to nick his wallet out of his pocket without him noticing, class!
  20. I'll grab one if there's going, could get one of the TGF guys as well, very different music tastes
  21. i wasn't getting at you. I was mearly offering a counter arguement with evidence to support my view that people do "give a fuck about bands who are all about the music" Note: I don't hate bands that are outspoken.
  22. I'd say bands who just let their music do the talking get more respect, look at the likes of Tool, APC, Mogwai, Explosions in the sky etc etc They are all amazing gifted bands, who are loved all over the world, and you will rarely hear a bad word said about them. None of them are outspoken or make a big deal about how great they are, and they get respect. Just an opinion.
  23. And for those interested, looks like we will have 2 or 3 new songs for it. Rock.
  24. One line drawing are the best band on that bill, dear god i hope they do a headline show in Scotland as well
