  1. In the Diamond Street shop, I spied a 2nd hand copy of The Clan's Eat The Jam demo tape which I bought (and still have) best local band ever imo... In Belmont street I bought every punk looking 7" they stocked (4 past midnight, the varukers, newtown grunts, china drum.....loads more) but I'll never forget asking them to order in Minor Threat's EPLP, Operation Ivy's LP, Crass - feeding the 5000 etc....blew my mind buying that stuff from one up, now you can buy it all from HMV...
  2. Sounds like REASON is the app you after...does everything you want (and more)....the redrum module makes for a great quick simple to program drum machine and you change your patterns in real time meaning no programming and sequencing, just punching of buttons.... Groove Agent from steinberg runs stand alone aswell... Why do people download Audacity? You realise it does nothing...absolute garbage and you get what you pay for! (FA for FA)

Theres a good tourney coming up in Inverness at the end of November, 50 buy in with 25k starting stack, 1 hour blinds...cheapest and nearest I'll get to the WSOP! Daniel Negreanu was 2nd losing out to Barry Shulman (father of Jeff Shulman, one of this years November Nine) Also at the final table were 2 more November Niners, french guy Antoine Saout and brit boy James Akenhead...final tabling the WSOP and the WSOPE in the same year is legendary, it happened last year with Ivan Demidov and twice this year.... o_O luck boxes.... was hoping the other brit Praz Bansi would go all the way...he made 3rd....roll on November 7th...money is on teh Ivey...

  17. i don't play around with this shit nearly as much as I used to, but heres what I really like.... D 16 Devastator - This is one of the best plug ins ever made, its a multi-band compressor/distortion unit and the range of sounds you can create is just awesome, I love putting this on drums (particularly a room track), guitar, bass, vocals, synths, drum machines, ANYTHING! It only costs 35 fucking euros yet it will make your ITB mixes sounds like they are being cranked through quality vintage gear. There is literally too much you can do with it....they havea new one called Decimator which I haven't used so much but its a bit crusher I think, the two in combo can probably make some great noise... Stillwell Audio Transient Monster - Amazing control of drums, you can really make snares snappy and short (the Epitaph/Fat Wreck Chords drum sound) or can make them huge... Stillwell Audio Major Tom Amazing compressor based on dbx 160, this pumps and pulls in a controlled manor (input gain dependent) so flows very musically...great on the drum bus URS - BLT The simplest EQ plug in there is and the shine this adds this awesome, really brings out the crack in snares and brings them forward, adds nice air to vocals aswell... OVERLOUD - BREVERB - Great reverb plugin modelled on old hardware units, great sounding plate on this (I love plate on vocals and snares, 80s sound)...you can run one of these inserted in every track and its never going to kill your CPU like altivervb... IZOTOPE - TRASH - There are a load of great amp sims but none really get that harsh sound of a cab like Trash..I don't think much of the distortion stages on it (although you can do some crazy stuff with it) but the speaker emulations are just huge and with a bit of compression in the pre stage, will just sound like an amp being cranked out and mic'd up. I always come across recordings ive made and forgotten I got the guitar sound using a plug in because it sounds just like an amp... GSi - GSI200 - This is a clone of the Roland RE-201 and it just sound great, the spring verb sounds amazingly on vocals, and playing with the echo is just so much fun....you can make all those crazy watery sounds on dub records...very cool
  18. I'm sure the owners of the establishment will love you for this.... "The atmosphere was already tense by the time Anal Cunt went on stage and there had already been confrontations between band members and the club owner, Steven Faber, who had told the bands to keep the noise down for the benefit of the lounge's 'regulars', who were competing in a darts tournament. The club itself was known for violence, with the police having been called there on numerous occasions on reports of assault. The fight, which can be heard in the background of Anal Cunt's performance on the recording, started with band and audience members throwing small objects at each other but during Anal Cunt's first song, Song #6, people started throwing chairs. The disappearance of Seth Putnam's vocals partway through the recording can be explained by the fact that he wanted to get involved in the fight, recalling the violence of some of the band's previous concerts. During the ensuing chair fight, a bartender by the name of Cynthia Nystrom was injured by the neck of a guitar, receiving a serious wound across her chin. With many fistfights breaking out across the floor, the club owner, Steven Faber, intervened, swinging at various musicians with his fist. Seth Putnam reacted by kicking him several times, at which point an unknown assailant struck Faber's face with end of a weighted microphone stand, causing him to fall back into the drum kit. He sustained serious facial injuries, including a broken cheekbone and concussion, for which he would be taken to South Shore Hospital for treatment."
