  1. I don't think there is anyone who didn't think it was anything more than an experiment. I can't speak for others, but I downloaded the torrent rather than from their own web site as their download was encoded at a crappy 160kbps CBR quality. The torrent was a higher quality CD rip. And yes, I've since bought the CD of In Rainbows.
  2. Any suggestions? And are there any that should be removed as well?

    Top 10 Films

I'm sure someone will list The Devil Wears Prada in their top 10 soon enough...
  4. I was going to offer Stripey a ticket but I think he'd turn me down.
  5. DIZZY STARR has got an infraction for his troubles and a few posts deleted. Now let's get back on topic please everyone. I'm off to see this new Batman film at the IMAX cinema down here next week. Take that bitches!
  6. Thanks for backing that statement up with a list of your favourite films.
  7. Well you appear to take great pleasure in forcefully telling everyone here which films you consider to be completely shit, so I think it's only fair you share with us what you consider to be a good film. Of course deep down, like everyone else, you probably like one or two of these "steaming Hollywood poo" productions but heaven forbid actually admitting that and...*gasp* contradicting yourself yet again.
  8. It's actually still there, but the RSVP for events is switched off by default now after the upgrade. I need to fix this. If you have posted an event then you should still see the RVSP checkbox at the bottom to enable it (assuming the event hasn't been and gone of course).
  9. So you actually went to the bother of finding, downloading (I assume you didn't actually go to a cinema) and watching this film just so you could reply and tell everyone in a local music forum it's a "steaming heap of hollywood poo" ? This after telling everyone beforehand that it's shit anyway like all other Hollywood films. I wish I had as much free time as you appear to have.
  10. Seriously, wise up. If you can't provide a constructive response to this guy's question then please don't bother posting at all.
  11. The reason it has gone up has nothing to do with the location, it is just because you're now in a older flat that's less secure. I was paying 160 at Fonthill anyway. Got quoted for 550 down here though for the same level of contents cover. What a laugh - bye, bye Direct Line.
  12. I'd be interested to know how they are going to decide who is a pirate or not. As a Virgin Media customer (yeah, I know) I could quite easily find myself receiving one of these letters. Yet how do they know what I'm downloading? Are they going to monitor every single thing I download? As people have pointed out elsewhere, they can't simply just punish those that download the most content as plenty of it can be perfectly legitimate (people using BBC iPlayer, downloading HD films purchased on iTunes etc). They can't just target types of traffic either - e.g. Bittorrent traffic. As plenty of that can be legitimate as well (WoW distributes updates and patches via Bittorrent now, as do many other games. Nine Inch Nails and other artists distribute their legal and free content using Bittorrent these days as well). For this to work they have to start recording every single item that someone downloads and then decide whether they downloaded that item illegally. In short, it's next to impossible for them to do this with any degree of accuracy. They will simply warn the heavy downloaders and it will only take one of these people to turn round and ask for evidence that they have downloaded pirated content for this to all become apparent.
  13. Okay, some comments in reply to this and the other last few posts. Firstly, the new logo is much better than the last and I completely disagree with people who claim the old logo was better. I honestly don't understand how people can say that. I guess that's all subjective though. Secondly, I run at 1680x1050 as well and can understand what you're saying. The original plan was to have the advertising banner in that "gap" but it then caused problems with people running at lower resolutions. So the ad banner was moved down (which also increases it's visibility) and the header will be left as is for now. As few people currently run at resolutions as high as 1680x1050, then I don't really see this as being a problem. The colour scheme. Okay, this might change. The colour scheme that is currently being used is actually derived from the default vBulletin colour scheme - not the last skin. Personally I think black and blue go together fine, but I guess it would make sense to change this to make it black and grey. Although that might make the web site look rather colourless. I'll try this in the development environment and see how it looks. I'm pretty pissed off with the underlined links now, and so I think I might reverse that change as well. There won't be multiple skins to choose from. The reason for this is that it increases the amount of changes I have to make to the web site exponentially. There is a lot of tweaking that goes on in the templates (and there still needs to be plenty more tweaking done) and if I have multiple skins then I have to make these same changes to all the skins. It's a nightmare. If we were running the default vBulletin skin then this would be less of a problem, but we aren't. Hope some of that makes sense.
  14. Yup, that is because the member profiles are now public. They were actually set to public for some time before the upgrade.
  15. Ah, crap. IE strikes again. Okay, I'll add this to the to-do list.
  16. This shouldn't be happening and doesn't happen for me. What browser and OS are you using? By design. The search has to be performed again in order to see the new posts so that's why refreshing doesn't work. Isn't currently compatible with vBulletin 3.7 so it's gone until someone upgrades it. I was going to have a direct link to this on the main navigation bar but I was conscious of it getting too wide for people on lower resolutions. Happy to re-consider this decision though.
  17. The influence points are still there, indeed they have to be otherwise the reputation system wouldn't work, but they are now hidden from view for the moment.
  18. ...apparently: BBC NEWS | Health | Rock drummers 'are top athletes'
  19. Yup. Although the new version of vBulletin brings in a few new features that aren't immediately obvious (see the post on vBulletin.com for more info on them). There is still a few things that are going to be added to the site over the next couple of weeks. Namely, a new front-end for the articles, some enhanced social networking elements and hopefully some calendar / forum integration enhancements.
  20. Ah, see it now. That'll teach me for not testing the web site in IE properly. I'll fix this tonight when I get back home.
  21. I can't see any problem with the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the home page. Would someone be kind enough to take a screenshot of this problem and upload it to the Galleries for me to take a peak at?
  22. Can you please clarify exactly what icons you are referring to here?
  23. The scores have now been cleared and scores older than 12 months will be removed automatically from now on.
