Well, I for one watched it and enjoyed it. It did not shake my views in any real way, admittedly it opened my eyes to how dumb the American People are.

Power of Nightmares was a far better expose of the lies and maltruth that has been peddled by governments at home and abroad. I hear it may be coming out on DVD sometime, a must have purchase.

I agree that plenty of editing was done, Moore is no Democrat, he saves plenty of venom for them if anyone reads his books, but I agree that the film was slightly let down by the 'crusade against Bush' feel that ran through it.

I watched this as a film, not as someone who was prepared to be influenced by it, I have my own opinions on the US political system, Bush and the war in Iraq, but it always amazes me how people seem to discredit everything about a movie or a book based purely on who it was by.

I never watched it because i saw it in the cinema and it was shit, bowling for columbine was a good film, this was just crap, even if i agreed with what he was saying i would have still thought it was crap.

I thought the film was just one massive reel of anti-Bush propaganda and I cant even believe that it was released. I got well bored of it but it might have been that I'd had a really shit day yesterday and was half way through a bottle of wine. There also seemed to be ad breaks every five minutes which pissed me off.

As for the film, the plot was thin, the characters weren't properly introduced or developed and the special effects looked like they were patched together on a Speccy or something.

Seriously, I did get bored of it about half way through but what I did watch, I watched with a pinch of salt after hearing everything about it. There are some very irifutible(SP?!) facts that you can't say were patched together to make it look better for Moore - the buiness links with Bin Laden, the guy that he was in the air force with, the fact that for the first 8 months of office Bush was on vacation for 42% of the time, the guy that couldn't beat a dead guy to become a governer but was put in a very powerful job well above governer status who went on to ignore the security report the week before 9/11 and the number one for me, when Bush was told about the attacks but still went to the school and then sat there for 7 minutes after being told about the second plane crash before he actually did anything!!!!

Yes it might be presented in the best light for Moore but there must be something there to make light of.

Where did he slag them off? He showed footage of some of them displaying the kind of ignorance which exists in the US regarding Iraq, but I don't remember him stating that he had formed a specific view of them in that regard.

He's going to have to work hard to come back to his usual standard (does he have some ?).

Suggest you try watching Roger and Me, an excellent documentary, and the one which should have got him an Oscar

You have to remember that politicians only stand to be re-elected.

F911's underlying goal is to convey the message that Iraq and Al Queda have nothing really to do with each other. The Bush Administration has wanted to attack Iraq under war conditions for years. They continued to run bombing sorties during the 90s but this was largly ignored by the media. The US media being a very well controlled political machine. Even worse than in Italy some have said....(possibly a bit too harsh on NBC, CNL, FOX etc)

Iraq was invaded and attacked by a nation that did not declare war (which you must do when attacking a Sovereign state) and by a nation that had not been attacked itself under any means.

Weapons of Mass Destruction were never found in Iraq and it has been admitted that they probably never will be. Recently also by Donald Rumsfeld.

What the film conveys is that US officers, sons and daughters of US citizens in deprived areas that are no worse than those in Iraq are fighting for their country but for what?

OIL! - Second Largest Reserves in the world.

Haliburton have been given almost all of the contracts in Iraq without negotiation. The US tax payer is paying for this and Haliburton are reaping the rewards.

The US Citizens have sacrificed their rights all because they were scared. If you can control your citizens through fear and record their progress then you are in the ultimate driving seat.

The film is very 1984 but isn`t modern day society. Farenheit 911 does over step the mark and can come across as a bit too Anti Bush.

However they do not mention the disaster that is the US borrowing or national debt, nor his apauling economic policy.

The best thing to do with the film is to take a step back and just observe the way people interact and the way society operates.

Governments are laughing nowadays as fewer and fewer citizens actually use their freedom of speach and their rights which is a shame.

I think F911 was really targetted at the floating voter... What is acheived was to bring the Pro Bush camp closer together. Couple this with a man that had no Charisma and Bush won the Election.

America is becoming the most hated nation in the world because of it`s foreign policy and as allies the UK is somewhat on it`s heels.

Personally I just feel that the US and the UK should look after their domestic affairs before launching into other nations for their own profitable gain.
