*Amy*
Oooh, I'm gonna go see it this weekend while everyone does their Christmas shopping. We went to see it on Broadway a few years ago and when the chandelier came down the theatre I just about wet my nickers. It's a great tale, can't wait to see what they've done to it. Guest tv tanned
I am avoiding it, to me it will just lose the ambience.Plus how can you rival the acoustics and the feel of the stage show?
Hardcore Mel
they've actually done a pretty good job. they haven't made the songs poppy and they haven't done any hollywoodisations of it. i really enjoyed it. nice to be able to watch the show without having to fork out a shitload of cash to go to london and see it in the west end. Snowball
I thought it was extremely badly done but enjoyable all the same.
Rach_69
i loved it at the start when it goes from black and white to colour, and some of the singing gave me goosebumps, its just sooooo good!

Rachie
I thought it was OK, but it's not something I'll be running out to buy on video. I would love to see the stage version though, still haven't! That and Les Miz again.

Sue Denim..
This sort of film doesn't really appeal to me. I think I'll save my next cinema experience for "War of the Worlds" when it's finished.Sue.
*Amy*
Hmmm, I'm not sure what to make of it really. The music was mostly good but there were a few nasty bits. The set and costumes were pretty impressive, yeah. Emily from Brookside did a pretty good job, but the lead is not worth of an Oscar nomination for that. It's better on stage. rufus13th
I love this movie but I've embarassingly never seen the stage version. The opening chandelier scene is like the greatest movie opening of all time in my opinion.Even though the Glasgow UGC has amazing surrounds, I agree.. you can't beat the live acoustics of a theatre show. So I'm gonna save up a wad of dough, go to London and see the musical. Dunno how I'm gonna execute this plan though.
