Old Gold
You can get a reaaaally good second hand Fender valve for a couple hundred quid more. Be a mooch a while longer and there are bargains to be had.Or Orange. I love an Orange.

brettthain1
I've got an Orange 20w 1x8 amp in my bedroom. For messing around with, it's a quality amp! It works great with effects and has a ton of effects built into it. The reverbs are incredible! I wonder if I'd get away with gigging it mic'ed up if the venue hadn't got equipment there. Bigsby
You could do a lot worse than the Super 60 here if it's still available. http://www.aberdeen-music.com/topic/56633-3-fender-combos-for-sale/?hl=fender#entry831053
scottyboy
Old JCM800 if you can find one? I both bought one (50w combo) and sold it for 300, I think. Maybe not the most practical for gigging, if you're otherwise talking about 20w heads, though.
