Old Gold
he's right about hit the lights not being metal. haHe can have that, seeing as they're probably the least important band since the dawn of music.

Flights
I said they were pish metal. I've never heard any of their output but judging by their name and the pictures of them on google I'm willing to take away the word 'metal' from my initial description.
The Milner
One more thing, whats with all the acronyms for band names? What the fuck happened to music? When did i get so old? Why did the scene die?
Soda Jerk
Fuck sake. You lot have ruined the best thread about rap/metal, and turned it into an argument about genres. My crew are going to fucking deck the lot of you.

Old Gold
enlighten us good sir.Heck no. I don't wish to attempt a definition of this huge, generation-spanning sub-genre. Read some Nothing Nice to Say or something.
Soda Jerk
Is this debate still about A Day To Remeber? Don't they fall under the same umbrella as all that neo-bouncy-pop-punk like Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong? I heard it being called "easycore" quite recently. That's a bit of a dumb genre, but it's no dumber than POWER VIOLENCE or whatever.
Dakota
I hope we can all come to the realisation that every style mentioned in this thread falls under one genre and that is "popular". Now kiss my ass, I wanna hear this new project minus the nakedness.
Jaaakkkeee
If this new thing every comes to light, it won't be naked, and it won't feature caligeez. It will, however, feature loads of oxford commas.

Soda Jerk
Is "power violence" an actual genre? I need to hear this if it is.Powerviolence: Blastbeats, feedback, the blasts are often seperated by muddy, horrible noise and stuff.

Stroopy121
And Panda - I actually couldn't see any on the listings, unless you count Oath Of kings? Which I hope you don't.Aren't Oath of Kings local? asshole wifebeater or otherwise, that counts...? Dweller are in there too. Not sure who the other lot are or if they are local or not, tbh.xx
Jaaakkkeee
Dean Morrison got started on at Union Square 'cause of that rumour. He definitely didn't beat up anyone, but how fast that thing spread was hilarious.

Ross G
yea they're local but I'd describe them as more kidcore hahahahaas for Dweller - trying to fix them under one genre would be like trying to turn Dale Winton straight. Impossible.
Soda Jerk
C'mon guys. The East Coast Stranglerz Crew still need a turntablist.
Stroopy121
But they are local and, although they span a few different genres and sub-genres, I'd say they still land somewhere in the family we're talking about here. Punk/Hardcore/Noise/PowerViolence/Rap-Punkxx
