paime
Does anyone else use Linkedin? Im struggling to see the advantages of it, it's not even good for checking out business-type fanny as the thumbnails are too small and nobody posts pictures of themselves in bikinis on holiday a la Facebook. Adam Easy Wishes
I use it. I guess it just allows you to be searched in the context of potential job opportunities, and keep a 'network' of people you know in a professional capacity. Also, some of the groups are decent for bouncing ideas/queries off people. Johnny Mac
I have one but very rarely use it.
paime
Do you ever get any business out of it?
Chris
I have had genuine enquiries and invitations to interviews through LinkedIn. It's useful in that respect.
DanClews
I get fed up by the amount of recruitment agents who try and add me. But it is hilarious to cocktease them, get them to explain all about the job, then tell them I have only been in my current job for 4 weeks.I'm not looking for a job, if I wanted one, I would get in touch. Adam Easy Wishes
Do you ever get any business out of it?I don't get business but I do get job offers. I don't run my own business so it's kind of a moot point. I would like to think that if I did, and was looking for business, then a correctly managed LinkedIn profile would help. Neil
Yeah, use it quite frequently. If you're looking for a new job (esp. if you're a contractor) then it's pretty useful. I got my current job via contact through the site.
Hugh_Jazz
Likewise. Very useful site for jobseekers.....particularly if you work in "niche" markets.
FatHand
Yeah, it is quite good. I've just set up an account for my Label persona rather than my normal work persona. Hoping to get some links with people that would be quite hard to find otherwise. It's like a yellow pages with extra information on the people you are searching for
Hog
As a business owner I have found it useless (so far).
FOX
I wouldn't know how to even start with it. Not having had a job (well, a full-time job) or a degree/diploma I think it'll be a few years before I can use it and get anything out of it. Skacel
What are the best ways to find contacts? I've just signed up but can't find anyone I work with or went to uni with.
