James Broonbreed
I'm not sure if this used to be the case or anything; but would it be better for this forum if there were different threads for different books, authors, genres etc.? The way it is at the moment, it's pretty much just like, "I read this", "I read that". It's quite difficult to get discussions going without getting lost in pages and pages of stuff that may not be of particular interest to you.Dunno, just a thought. Oedo 808
The new thread button seems to work fine
Shaki
Yup, just start a new thread specific to your book//author/genre of choice.
James Broonbreed
Aye, I did that a while ago and, for some reason, the thread disappeared. I can only assume it was removed by the moderators.

James Broonbreed
My bad; just my display options don't go back that far. How come more people don't start a new thread for books they've read?
Lemonade
I guess the "Your current read" thread covers, well, pretty much everything.I did one once.http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/books/42539-third-policeman-flann-obrien.htmlNever did finish that book. But that's the thing, it covers EVERYTHING. It's a bit off putting having to read through commetns about Andy Goram's biography, just to get to something you may actually be interested in.It's just my opinion, man. Often thought that one should be split up a bit.But yeah, by all means, give it a go. There's different threads for TV shows, films etc so no reason why it wouldn't work the same for books. Adam Easy Wishes
Often thought that one should be split up a bit.I tried but failed to start a thread about Sone Aluko signing for Aberdeen on a permanent deal.It was merged with the Season XX/XX thread at the time and I was annoyed, however THE POWERS THAT BE refused to listen to my complaints. Paranoid Android
Yeah this sub forum is kind of pointless as long as all talk stays in one thread. As it is it would just as well be one super thread in the main gen chat area and remove the sub forum.
