MC Nice Andrew
Anyone got any suggestions on the scariest film they've seen?I'm home alone alone this week and want to scare the shit out of myself.Last film that properly scared me was REC, Spanish documentary style film. Le Stu
I liked Audition. It's all build up so if you get bored easy then it's maybe not for you. A lot of japanese horrors are like that. The ending is pure fucked...
Lemonade
I'll probably get mocked for this, but I was scared out of my wits the first time I saw The Blair Witch Project. It's not so bad on repeat viewings but it's still pretty scary.
MC Nice Andrew
Na i agree with blair witch, though i think you had to pay attention to be scared.

Lemonade
The Orphanage. It's only scary for like the first half hour until you realise that actually it's not a scary film.

MC Nice Andrew
It's only scary for like the first half hour until you realise that actually it's not a scary film.Though its got to have the best 'old lady getting hit by a bus' scene ever. Guest idol_wild
Does anyone know how scary the haunting in Connecticut is? I've got it but haven't watched it, someone said they had to leave the cinema?Possibly because it was such a pile of knickers?
Alkaline
The Orphanage.I didn't find that scary at all. It was quite a sad film but it was also pretty in the same way that Pan's Labyrinth was.

Gus Chamber
City of the Living Dead. (Didin't give me the fear, but great anyway)Seconded, terrific film. Although the pedant in me bristled at the teleporting zombies.Zombies don't teleport.
Monster Zero
'The Shining'. Always. Two films I've seen recently that I found to have an on-edge atmosphere were 'Martyrs' and 'The Intruders'.
Kinnell
Saw a French film called Martyrs the other week. Scared the shit out of me and my flatmate and she's a massive horror fan. Best horror film I've seen in years!

Lemonade
The Exorcist scares the bejesus out of me.Man up. I never found the Exorcist scary, though the original Omen is pretty chilling. The bit where she jumps off the roof with the rope round her neck while smiling and waving is classic scariness.
Lemonade
The Descent has some proper scary bits and is spooky and claustrophic as hell.... until they actually reveal the monsters and you realise they're stupid and a bit shit.
Sturtpot
The Japanese versions of the Grudge and the Ring are really scary.
Gus Chamber
The Exorcist scares the bejesus out of me.Found that to be a bit of a disappointment, but I didn't see it until I was 21. Some corking dialogue in it such as "Do you know what she did? Your cunting daughtaaaaaaaaaaah?" but didn't lose a wink of kip over it. Guest idol_wild
The Japanese versions of the Grudge and the Ring are really scary.Even the remake of Grudge wasn't terrible. Still had it's moments.I'm all about ghosts and shit; none of these monsters or psychological horrors.

I mean why??? I was terrified up until that point. The Cave is a more standard crap horror movie that is still less crap than the second half of The Descent
