Al Coholic
I don't care who the hell made it, it's just one of the coolest looking guitars I've ever seen. Alan will give it a good home (and if you sell it to him I might get a shotty).i agree, it's definitely the coolest looking cardboard guitar i have ever seen as well

Al Coholic
Yeah it might not be a framus, it just says rolyford on it and Framus is the only company to make a guitar called rolyfordNope my friend, i checked with Framus and they said, and i quote: Framus never built a guitar called Rolyford. Don't mind you being ignorant, but don't try to sell it as a Framus when it is, quite clearly, a cheap copy made of recycled toilet rolls... Alan Cynic
Being cheap myself I don't mind, and will still take it. It reminds me of my mum's old Martin Coletti, also a naff, but loveable guitar)
Localboylost
Nope my friend, i checked with Framus and they said, and i quote: Framus never built a guitar called Rolyford. Don't mind you being ignorant, but don't try to sell it as a Framus when it is, quite clearly, a cheap copy made of recycled toilet rolls...Back to what i said.."It's vaguely playable but it sounds awful and it doesn't actually say framus on it, it says rolyford and this is the only piece of information i could find about it, it's probably the same guitar..http://www.guitarsite.com/database/G...sages/74.shtml"So i don't understand why you think i'm being ignorant seeing as how i've told everyone it's unplayable and this is the only info i could find on the guitar

Kaizen
Thirded. For that price, I really wouldn't be caring if its a framus or not... It's a gorgeous looking guitar.x

Alan Cynic
Just thought I'd mention that I got the Rolyford back to good health, and have used it occasionally over the last year, and am making it the main guitar on my next CDr.You can hear a rough mix of an instrumental called '2 lovers walk' here...Kitchen Cynics on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads(you might have to scroll down the songs to find it)

Alan Cynic
I stuck on a cheap contact mike, but it sounded crap (I tend to favour ones I can run through the strap peg hole, but the 'f-holes' meant I couldn't get one in), so I'm just mic-ing it with an old Shure unidyne at the moment. It's got heavier strings than I normally favour, but sounds all the better for them, and I'm getting used to it. Bigsby
Traditionally the best way to amplify an archtop was with one of these bad boys:www.VintageArchtop.comThe vintage ones go for shitloads now though.
Alan Cynic
I might aim for a modern version of those!!!
