Kind of reminds me of one of the microkorg demos. No offence intended.

Yes it is almost entirely synth-based (made with 2 synths and a sampler), great observation. If you've ever heard a microkorg acheive this I'd love to hear an example, because I've really only heard them being used with their presets by cheesy indie bands trying to bring in an "electro" element.

It reminded me of one of the microkorg demos in the way that it could just as easily sounded like somebody going "la-lal-la-la-la-la" to its melody. I should add I found it to be rythmically dull, with predictable periods of shapeless sounds, regardless of how well produced it sounded.

I'm not sure what you mean, can you explain? There is no vocal.

I'm not saying there is a vocal. I'm saying there is a certain degree of melody in the song, and it was the melody that reminded me of the microkorg demo, rather than me making some link between the two purely because both involve the use of sythns. Similarly there could hypothetically be a song with the very same melody done vocally, and your song would remind me of it too.

what's a shapeless sound?

That wasn't a very articulate way of putting it I'll admit. I mean the fairly atonal sounds at the start without much of a discernible rhythmic or melodic structure to them.

Maybe you should try to appreciate sound for the sake of sound outside of any melodic or rhythmic structure (there is rhythm present from the start in that mp3 btw)

Well there's rhythm in everything. To appreciate anything just for the sake of itself is absurd. Anyway, I'm not criticising it for not having an obvious melodic or rhythmic structure, that was just to decribe which part I meant, remember? My original point was that those parts were rather predictable, which in itself is not necessarily a bad thing, but given your posts on this site it was rather disappointing.
