Jamesy
i got kicked outta moshulu for this quite a while ago. missed the headlining bands. cunts.I dont believe that for a second, considering that the boys at Moshulu are good lads, and when it comes to gigs, 99% they'll run everything that's gig-related past me. Marc
The old cliche' of 'you guys are the best audience this tour so far' is one that i believe to be very much a load of bollocks' date=' however, last night was a very different show in terms of Aberdeen crowds, and also after speaking to the Bromhead's boys all day about their tour and experiences, they didn't seem to be the kind of guys to bullshit..The crowd last night was awesome, around 200 people in, and nearly everyone got well into the gigs, loads of crowd interaction, crowd surfing, dancing from both punters and the band, the tunnels was indeed buzzing and the Bromheads blokes left raving, and pleasantly surprised, with their first Aberdeen experience. Also, chances are, they're going to be fucking massive later this year, so it's only a good thing. Also, Bromheads are a fucking mile better than Artic Monkeys, loads of fun, with a couple of pop gems. You'll find most bands, especially overseas bands, love it in Aberdeen, cause it's a nice city, with a nice culture and good people. It's just a shame that the 'crowds' let it down from time to time.Last night was definitly a high point, hopefully they'll be back this year.[/quote']couldnt have said it better, the thing was that the group of us that went to the gig (around 30 of us - the rowan clan) have been fans for months and months and had the demos for a while, which made it like a gig from a band that have released loads of songs. Now this has to be the way forward, if you have demos, let people hear them, it makes a huge difference when they come to play live. Doesnt matter how amazing the band are, if no-one knows your songs or only a few songs, youre not gonna get a great atmosphere.agree about the whole arctic monkeys thing, ok so they come from sheffield and write about what you see everyday, the same guy is giving out their demos bla bla bla but their sound is nothing like the monkeys. People who have just came to the conclusion that they sound like the arctic monkeys on the basis of how theyve went about their job are just ignorant. P.s. get good shoes rescheduled asap, the reception will be just as good as bromheads, guaranteed
stuartmaxwell
im really glad to hear that your lot are bringing the ruckus to indie gigs and the like its great for the bands and its great for aberdeen. keep up the good work!but..... Doesnt matter how amazing the band are' date=' if no-one knows your songs or only a few songs, youre not gonna get a great atmosphere.[/quote']that is complete and utter nonsense

MattJimF
they also said that aberdeen stage invaders can sing better than they canSo Aberdonians can sing impromptue Kareoke better than other crowds, whoop de bloody fucking doo. at the end of the day they are still indie crap who ripped of the style of a band who made it big, despite the fact they have been around longer or they have a bigger fan base than Arict monkeys. No one will know them as who they are just as another artic monkeys clone, a la Oasis and The Beatles.

Sam_b
who ripped of the style of a band who made it big, Yeah, because all these bands are just Libertines rip offs............bollocks.
Ross
Yeah and i bet he said that where ever they played the last two nights' date=' and will say it where ever they play tonight and tomorrow. It's called getting the crowd on your side or a cheap pop in wrestling terms. All bands do it cause it gets the crowd going. It's only if they mention it in interviews, articles or websites after the tour ends that you should be inclined to believe them.[/quote']Actually...The Band / Manager / Agent have said to everyone that Aberdeen was the best show.Apparently.... "It kicked off in Aberdeen big style!"

The worse i've seen it though was when Sugarcult claimed that the Aberdeen audience was so good that not only were they coming back but taking Green Day with them. Alan Cynic
The Interesting music nights have often been mentioned by bands in their webpages as the best of their tours. Josephine Foster was even quoted in Wire magazine, saying her gig here was one of her year's highlights. Also Gary Lucas (ex Beefheart, Jeff Buckley etc) raved about Aberdeen in his blog. Old Gold
There seems to be a hefty shower of moany bastards who would rather sit at their computer complaining about the state of their beloved scene than get off their arses and do something constructive to support it. It's just so much easier being a fucking know it all I presume.
