Guest DustyDeviada
Yep, it's starting to get tempting for me to get rid of Sky and just use Freeview.Anyone who hasn't seen Curb Your Enthusiasm before, watch it, it really is amazing. Guest tv tanned
I like how they sold it for ages as an 'adult entertainment channel' in the teaser ads.All the pervs who got freeview for it must be feeling pretty stupid now

Guest tv tanned
well, here's what Sarah Smith said in my Channel 4 News e-mail just a minute ago:'Adult Entertainment' in training =====================================You should by now have seen the adverts for the new "Adult Entertainment" channel that Channel 4 are launching on October 10th. But did you realise that news too can be "adult entertainment"? If the marketing campaign is working you will by now have realised that Channel 4 is not really becoming the country's "pornographer in chief", again, but is instead launching a new channel filled with grown up and intelligent entertainment. Which is great relief to me as I'm presenting a brand new news programme on the channel.More4 News will be on at 8pm every night. Which gives us exactly 4 minutes after Channel 4 News comes off air to shove Jon out of his chair, move the whole studio around, and get ourselves on air. All this week we are rehearsing with a stopwatch! It can be done - but only just.So any night you get home too late for Channel 4 news, don't despair. You can see all the best of it at 8pm on More4 instead. We'll bring you all the day's news and we'll have our own guests and interviewees who'll bring us different, and often quite controversial, opinions on the days news. We've only got two more "real time" rehearsals to go we launch our first programme on Monday. Then you can turn to More4 on satellite, cable or Freeview to see what "adult" news looks like. Here's all the right channel numbers which I'm promised to memorise in the same way that Jon can recite from the European Convention on Human Rights.Sky 165NTL 166Telewest 142Freeview 13From Monday, remember. Luckily for us, you won't be able to see our pilot tonight!Sarah Smith
Chris
the best part is that it's going to be showing the Daily Show. Thank fuck freeview are getting some more good channels now with E4, More 4 and some new ITV channels on the way.

DiceWoman
Yeah freeview's been getting really good lately; although I'm not sure about the whole 'first look' thing... its good in theory but then you just end up watching the shows a week ahead of schedule on e4......or watching the same episode twice.(not that I'd do such a sad thing....) Skull Commander
It's going to be like E4 but without all the shite. Fantastic! Bring on the sopranos.
Chris
its good in theory but then you just end up watching the shows a week ahead of schedule on e4...Ah yes, I do that with Lost and Spooks. But the trick is that watching it ahead of the normal channels means you can afford to miss a week if something else comes up, and you can just catch up again the following week. It's great! Swingin' Ryan
There's some superb stuff on, including Amelie on the 16th!Does anyone know if there's any way of recording from a Freeview box onto VHS, I've always assumed it wasn't possible, but then again I know very little about technology.
