  6. The answer to the proposition of the conversation. Is the perfect sound not spoiled by the close proximity of the band?
  7. I know that Scottish people are amongst the most likely to get cancer. Maybe there's a connection with cancer and big willies.

  10. *Requirements for reading Shakespeare, Milton, Chaucer, and other dead white males are disappearing, to be replaced by options to take studies in The Roles of Women in the Renaissance (an excuse to lament the sexism of the past) or The Bible as Literature (a course designed to denigrate the Bible as cleverly crafted fiction instead of Gods truth). Okay guys and gals, I have to say that this is possibly one of the most entertaining reads I've enjoyed in a while. You can get a copy here: http://www.kevinislaughter.com/wp-content/uploads/2083+-+A+European+Declaration+of+Independence.pdf
  11. 30 pages into Anders Behring Breivik's manifesto and he's still talking about Political Correctness. Fun quotes: *If they are public figures, they must grovel in the dirt in endless, canting apologies. If they are university students, they face star chamber courts and possible expulsion. If they are employees of private corporations, they may face loss of their jobs. What was their crime? Contradicting the new EUSSR ideology of Political Correctness. *Political Correctness, shares with classical Marxism the vision of a classless society, i.e., a society not merely of equal opportunity, but equal condition. Since that vision contradicts human nature because people are different, they end up unequal, regardless of the starting point society will not accord with it unless forced. *The contemporary Western European and American literary field is awash in isms: Marxism, Freudianism, feminism, and so on. Most of these are the academic cousins of what is called in the common culture Political Correctness. Literary theorists take their particular brand of criticism and apply it to literature in an effort to find self-affirmation in a discovered meaning of the text. For a feminist critic, for example, no longer does Andrew Marvels Upon Appleton House have the beauty of the grounds as its theme; it speaks instead of the evils of a patriarchal line of inheritance. *...multiculturalism involves the systematic restructuring of the curriculum so as to hinder students from learning about the Western tradition. *Students at Stanford, like students at all but one of the other top 50 universities in the United States, are not required to take a single course in history. Instead, they are offered a choice of courses under the heading of American Cultures. According to one recent graduate at Stanford, it is impossible to fulfill the American Cultures requirement by studying Protestantism, Irish Americans, or the American West, while courses that do fulfill the requirement include Film and Literature: US-Mexico Border Representations and Contemporary Ethnic Drama. Stanford students must also take courses in World Cultures and Gender Studies that include Chicana Expressive Culture and Misogyny and Feminism in the Renaissance. *Were they able, our 1950s family would head back to the 1950s as fast as they could, with a gripping horror story to tell. Their story would be of a nation that had decayed and degenerated at a fantastic pace, moving in less than a half a century from the greatest countries on earth to Third World nations, overrun by crime, noise, drugs and dirt. The fall of Rome was graceful by comparison.
  12. Aye, there's a few interesting quotes there, but I thought Russia's coverage sounded more interesting even than that of Israel. Pakistan also had a colourful spin on events.
  13. BBC News - Norway attacks: World press reaction
  14. Being canonised takes time but someone already compared her to The Beatles today and another news commentator said that she'd, "revitalised the popularity of the female vocal", as if oestrogen had at some point become the death knell to the dream of a career in the music industry. I also heard someone give her the epitaph "One of the most important artists of the century". Settle down chum, we're only getting started. The worst part of the reporting today was when a BBC news anchor began reading out twitter comments from other celebrities. "Celebrity X said, 'OMG! Amy's dead! RIP'" The BBC now reports death with OMGs from celebrity twitter streams? I'd hope that those who knew her will, but someone upstairs could well be rubbing their hands with glee tonight. Somewhere they may just have an album of incoherent wailing lying around they otherwise would have had to market for dogs. Does anyone know: is there a word or a phrase which describes a mass outpouring of over-exaggerated grief, expressed with platitudes and moments of outstanding individual grandstanding from a two-faced public, many of whom just want to get their faces on TV and talk shit to the exact same reporters who revelled in the misery of their victim while they were still living? There should be. To me Amy Winehouse was a just a poor wee train-wreck who made shit records. I would never have wished her any ill. The rest of them are a bunch of cunts. To put it another way: OMG! RIP! Heaven has another angel in its choir tonight.
  15. Lee Dorsey - Working In a Coal Mine
  16. Crap music by a crap 'artist' who looked absolutely hideous before she let herself go. Biggest hit was a rip-off. Prepare for lots of people on TV speaking a heap of shit. 'Best British act since The Beatles' my arse.
  17. Also, to interfere a little bit more she might want to have a think about whether she really wants to hear Ceilidh music all night...
  18. The bit with the Cherry Bakewell drag show was quite amusing.
  19. How the fuck do you even make 258,000 when you're this fucking dumb? Croissant scam costs man 258,000 - Yahoo! UK & Ireland Finance
  20. There's simply no song in there. Self-indulgent crap.
  21. It's nothing to do with sexuality; it's about gender identity. If you can get your head around the fact that the two aren't connected you'll be a lot closer to understanding the issue. Some people simply believe they are in the wrong body - it's not about what sex they're attracted to. I have no problem with Keith wanting a sex change but I worry if he's taking hormones they will effect his voice. The most important thing is whatever makes him (soon to be her) happy.
