    Scotland Cricket

If you can play for 5 days without touching the ball, its not a sport. If you stop 'for tea' its not a sport If you can play for a month without deciding a winner, its not a sport If a normal person can look at the score and not understand who has won/is winning, its not a sport. Oh aye, and if its Shite and Scotland are Shite at it, its not a sport.
  2. Yeah I always thought I was shite at it as well - but the beauty of premierleague.com is how much you can actually change your team. Used to hate the ones in the paper taht you picked pre season and got 1 transfer allowed or whatever. With this one you can make one change a week, use subs plus theres a wildcard where you can change your entire team in one go as well. Its a pretty addictive sod as well...
  3. As I'm relatively new to this site just wondering if anyone plays on premierleague.com? If not, anyone up for doing it this coming season? get an ab-music league set up? I checked the other day and its not up and running for the new season yet, but thought it was magic last season, cant wait for it to start again!
  4. Try having Steven Robb in your squad!! Jeezo, he's like a frail Jamie Smith! Missed most of last season, then comes back and is 'raring to go' this year. So far he's missed the first pre season game through illness and he's doubtful for tonights as well...
  5. A quick provisional on the man city line up? (Old Fashioned 2-3-5) Given; Richards, Bridge De Jong, Kompany, Barry Robinho, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Petrov Subs (from): Bellamy, Wright Phillips, Bojinov, Benjani, Ireland, Elano, Caicedo, Onouha Fuck me I've probably missed half a team there but still...
  6. There was a carry on a few years ago about Freddy Adu perhaps not being the 15 year old wonderkid he was made out to be...
  7. East Fife 1-2 St Mirren Good kick off to the pre season for Saints, considering Gus had them doing a double session during the day before the game at night. Pretty much a first choice XI (Give or take the odd Tom Brighton) started although 2nd half saw 2 trialists and a host of subs coming on. Gallacher, Ross Mair Potter Camara, Dorman Thomson McGinn Brighton, Higdon & Mehmet. King Billy (sic) rolled in the first before Lee Mair nodded in a corner (A CORNER! We havent scored from a corner since LAST PRE-SEASON!) Seriously tho, I'm delighted we scored from a set piece. Some boy on Pie & Bovril done an analysis last season of where % of goals had come from. Saints were about 6th/7th from open play, but bottom from set pieces. If we had scored even 3 or 4 goals from set pieces we would have been far higher in the division.
  8. I suppose it depends on how in depth you want to go with the running order, and how varied your songs are. You could look at issues like where you use capo's and possibly different tunings, and trying to streamline songs together if you want it to run smoothly with minimal downtime between songs. Also consider how songs start and end, how they link in to each other as well. But a bangin first and last song are a must. If you've any filler, use it as such, dont whap it at the start and think folk will forget about it as the set goes along.
  9. How could I!? Valencia, Rooney and Owen/Berbatov/O'Shea Fixed
  10. Van Der Saar, Rafael Rio Vidic Evra, Fletcher Carrick Anderson, Valenica Rooney Owen/Berbatov with Scholes, Giggs, Obertan, Nani, Wellbeck, Macheda, Gibson, Fabio, Possebon all in reserve. Wouldn't write off Man U too early!
  11. Welcome to PodcART - Home If anyone's interested there is a rather flattering review of this release published on the above link... anyone got any other feedback?
  12. Aye you've got Ben Carson on trial from us as well, really surprised we let Carson go, been talked up for years as gonna be a future Saints legend. Never even made the first team!
  13. Aye, had to throw in that disclaimer to cover our arses... 8o
  14. We played at Aberdeen Pride a fair few years ago now and chucked in a hastily prepared Everly Brothers - All I Have to Do is Dream cover. It was rubbish, but we had fun... Also did a solo acoutic bit at a fund raiser for Pride in Oh Henry's the following year and played all sorts of stuff in return for a free bar all night. me and my flat mate and our two girlfriends had a belter of a night that night, drank the bar dry!
  15. Extreme Listening Mode! New interview up, see what ye's think!?
  16. If I were those guys this would be everywhere by now... I'm sure the Evening Depressed would lap stuff like that up!
  17. You are quite correct. Hannah's tie is in a far superior knot. And he has no need to hide behind a scruffy facial hair arrangement

  19. I once got a phone call from my mate on his way to meet me at a gig and his words were: "Dave, am I going to need my guitar...?" He had to go back for it... Then he broke down on the way back to the gig. With no breakdown cover.

    Scotland Cricket

Does Cricket really belong in a 'sport' forum? Can something which can last a month and not have a winner really be deemed a sport? More a pastime I would suggest...
  21. As far as I'm aware yeah it is, its left us kinda short on acts for our Showcase events in Peterhead as well which is a shame, as a few of them cant make it. Ideally we were looking to pick 6 acts from a larger pool, but we've got 6 slots to fill and only 4 bands to utilise, and even of them we have heard back from 2 so who knows...
  22. Local Acts all announced in todays Evening Express: The Locals Little Kicks Right Hand Left Stanley Indian Red Lopez Velvet Audio Cast of the Capital Headlight Pretty good line up!
  23. For what was supposed to be a crap boring summer with no Footy, I've probably watched some of the best games I've seen in a while over the last 2 weeks: Sweden U21s 3-3 England U21s Egypt 3-4 Brazil Usa 3-0 Egypt (I switched over at half time just incase a miracle happened ) South Africa 2-3 Spain Spain 0-2 USA USA 2-3 Brazil (missed USA going 2 up due to soundcheck at Tunnels, caught the comeback in Illicit Still pre gig tho ) Seen a few impressive looking players, thought the sore thumb at the back for South Africa (Matthew Booth - Rob Jones-esque appearance and loves a tackle) would make an excellent partner for Lee Mair at the heart of the new look Saints team for next season, and was also quite impressed with the boy Masilela for S'Africa. Also thought Giuseppe Rossi made a good impact for Italy, always suspected Man Utd might regret letting him go. Also thought Egypt deserved better after the first two games, I think it'd be great if there was a really strong African team at the World Cup, and Egypt always seem to be up there in the African Nations Cup.
  24. Alas, for every Sandi Thom song that vanishes from our radio playlists, there will always be another Pokerface/Hollaback Girl/Nonsensical Tart Rant waiting to blight our ears and squeeze the soul out of 'popular' music. Fuck me, even Blue are making a comeback!
