    Pet Hates!

Are both your arms in plaster after drunken weekend shenanigans?
  2. Or just kicked her in the head, Eddie from Tekken style... YouTube - Guy knocks out girl by accident while breakdancing
  3. What was Number One in the UK charts on the day you were born? The link below will help you. Number One for me was apparently This Ole House by Shakin' Stevens. Off to You Tube it as I can't for the life of me remember how it goes... List of number-one singles (UK) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Pet Hates!

The micro-managing, servile self-seeking, nepotistic, sycophant-cunt my boss is on a day-to-day basis.
  5. I'll take the fifth amendment and refuse to answer, on the grounds that anything I might say might inciminate me.

    Usain Bolt

Perhaps should be in the You Tube thread but while I'm at it...

    Usain Bolt

Bolt starts his 200m campaign tonight (final is on Thursday). Gay isn't running due to a groin injury (and the fact he wants to be fit for the relay at the weekend). Skybet are offering 12/1 for Bolt running sub 19secs. I'm excited.

    Usain Bolt

23.35 mph is the approx average. His split times show a top speed of around 29 mph.

    Usain Bolt

This was insane! Gay runs a national record for what is a sprinting powerhouse (USA) and still gets utterly dicked on. To think 9.5secs could be broken in the next year or so is bonkers! Calvin Smith broke the 10sec mark for the first time ever way back in '83 (in a magnificant 9.97sec run), so for Bolt to smash the record books the way he has is just incredable.
  10. Completly agree with you here. If it aint broke etc etc.... Covering favourites is always going to be risky, especially if you go for the straight cover as opposed to mixing things up a wee bit. Really like APC version of imagine though.
  11. Chedder! The king of all cheeses! It's got to be mature (but not too mature!). Versatile, innovative, and complex while being commercial enough to appeal to most, if not all cheese lovers. It's displayed a faultless track record of quality. Oh, and everyone's heard of chedder. All boxes ticked methinks! What about The Pogues or maybe The Beach Boys?
  12. Hmmm, off the top of my head... Jimi Hendrix - All along the watchtower (Bob Dylan) Jeff Buckly - Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen) Pearl Jam - Last Kiss (J. Frank Wilson) Sonic Youth - Superstar (The Carpenters) Nirvana - Man who sold the world (David Bowie) Zwan - Number of the Beast (Iron Maidon) Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats (The Knife) Pixies - Head On (Jesus and Mary Chain) Aretha Franklin - Respect (Otis Redding) Nine Inch Nails - Dead Souls (Joy Division) Joe Cocker - With a little help from my friends (The Beatles) Johnny Cash - Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode) The Sex Pistols - My Way (Frank Sinatra)
  13. Seconded. This little sack-faced fucker gave me nightmares for weeks...
  14. Any thoughts on constructing set lists. I've just got back into gigging and as such am thinking about order of play a little more. Does it depend on venue, amount of people, atmosphere, genre? Is there a fail safe formula that any of you have tried and tested?

    Pet Hates!

My own spitting of the proverbial dummy... OK, so I'm not old (28). Im not unhealthy (physically or mentally). I dont have any major financial concerns. I have a roof over my head that I share with a very shiny individual who still gives me butterflies long after our honeymoon period ended. Life should be pretty good. Wait. Life IS pretty good. Very good in fact. I sometimes need to remind myself of this however... The inevitability of human drama (a phrase Ive shamelessly plagiarized) runs in all our lives, yet seems to be accepted and dealt with better by some than others. I'm not grumpy all of the time (not much of it, actually!), but I have been turned into something of a grump recently. Why? Well thats the question thats prompted me to write this self-absorbed nonsense. That, coupled with the go-slow feeling of this Monday morning (no milk at work, no work at work, the bastard sea-gull who woke me up at three oclock this morning, my mothers constant alcohol abuse). Apologies, I digress Some people will always be unhappy because they are negative people. They lack the ability to look at a situation and see the good in it. When presented with a challenge or critique they see it as a sign that theyre doing something wrong, not an encouragement to do better. Some people are grumpy because its easier for them to be grumpy. It almost seems to take less energy for them. Once you start being grumpy everyone expects you to be grumpy so then you have less expectations to live up to. It can make for an easy life I guess? Everything in the news at the moment seems designed to depress us. Its almost as if youre made to feel bad for being happy at the moment. You dont know my pain At first, looking at situations in the grand scheme of things is so often over-looked. And why not? Were all human after all (some more than others, I grant you). Self-preservation makes us all selfish to a certain degree. How am I going to pay that bill, My life is over without her!, Who finished all the fucking milk!?!, can be as trivial to one person as soul-consuming to the next. Selflessness doesnt top many peoples priority lists nowadays. We tend to look after ourselves and our own; the rest can sort themselves out. Why? Well, why not? Makes sense to me. Enough. My point? (and Im sure I have one!). My point is that human drama is indeed inevitable. We make it that way. How we deal it with it is another matter. I for one will endeavor to remind myself of this the next time theres no milk on a Monday morning!!!
  16. Discovered West End Chocolates on Thistle Street the other day. Awsome sandwiches (and the chocolates aren't too bad either!).
  17. Been clock watching for the last three hours. No more isometric drawings for two days - fuck yeah! Been a long week and four o'clock can't come sooner. I love the weekend!

    TV Series!!

Halfway through season 3 just now (thanks to John at the Moorings). Love my Dexter!
  19. Notice no-one found it 'deeply offensive' at 11 o'clock yesterday morning?! "What a difference a day makes. 24 little hours."
