For future quick reference... 1) 'Class' as in Marxist Historical materialism is defined by how you earn your money... - If you don't own the fruits of your labour (alienation from your work) - Particularly if you get an hourly wage - Double so if you're salaried rather than freelance 2) Education, oportunity etc. was associated with class but doesn't define it - they were merely a by product of the class system. 3) Your class is as emotional as it is social (see alienation from your work). 4) The class system describes a person, not defines them. Class only matters to people who feel that they are in the wrong one.

At the risk of sounding pious, I don't understand why oh why God's word is put into drawers at the side of the bed in every hotel we stay in. I think I can make the presumption that we all know that the bible is the most widely read book in the English-speaking world. It's easy to see why! The story of Adam and Eve (for those of you who haven't yet read it) is a rousing tale of love, lust, murder and betrayal. Noah and his misses built a big fuck off floating zoo while Moses constructed an invisable dam just by thinking about it and waving his hands in the airn (or something like that). Then there were kings, serpants, a shit load of wine, burning bushes, crucifixion, a few plauges here and there. It's all pretty good stuff! Apologies, back to pet hates. Why is the bible the book of choice for tired travelers and weary back-packers? Do couples checking in to a hotel for a dirty weekend really want to see a copy of the holy book staring at them romping from the sidelines? Could it be that hotels and religious organisations formed some sort of pact? Are hotels the place to go when we wish to repent our sins? I don't think so! If and when my soul needs saving (and it might), I doubt that one or two nights in a hotel room with clean sheets and a Gideon Bible is going to get me through the Pearly Gates. Take the wee book and replace it with something a little more useful (like extra tea bags, for example!).

Well said. I take great pleasure from being helped to wash and dry my hands while spraying myself with bottled (over-priced) joy, only to give these pesky little trolls absolutly nothing!!! If you expect me to give a pound to you every time I take a piss then I guess you must be cunted!? What amazes me is how many people do tip these toilet beggers. STOP TIPPING THEM!!! THINK ABOUT IT!!! I know people have to make a living and all that, but c'mon!!! My thoughts and that of my colleuges go out the famlies involved in this tragedy. Events such as this really bring home the risks undertaken every time its time to suit up. Although statistics will show that there have been very few incidents compared to the amount of flights a year, helicopters are six times more at risk than fixed wing flights and harsh north sea conditions only compound these risks further. Without doubt there will have to be a full investigation into Bond's operations and maintenance schedules. I only hope something can be learnt from all this so that it can be prevented in the future.

Right folks, I was wandering if you fancied sharing all those guilty music pleasures you normally tend to keep on the down-lo. Now I'm not trying to cause a mass debate about whether artists mentioned here are credible (everyone is entitled to there opinons etc etc etc, and fuck it some tunes just have that sentimental attachment), but I'd love to hear from those death metal loving dudes that just can't help singing along to Hanson's 'Mmm Bop'' etc. Also, what was your parents music taste like? Were you subjected to the likes of Neil Diamond day in day out (I have to confess I can't help singing along to 'Love On the Rocks' when I hear it - I know, I know!) On the flip-side, did you're folks' taste in some way shape you're own? That's enough questions from me. Happy Saturday!
