  1. You could also put the onus on the manager to replace those players though. For example replacing Gary Hooper with Temo Pukki didn't exactly work out, which is why they signed Griffiths in January. It might only be 3 domestic defeats, but seeing as two of them were in the cups it's a bit more of an issue. Domestic semi-finals should be the absolute minimum requirement for Celtic just now, and even exiting at that stage would be quite disappointing. I'm not saying that Lennon will definitely be a failure in his next job, but it'll certainly be much more demanding than the one he's leaving. You could argue that dealing with the pressure of being expected to win everythign is demanding, but it's a far easier situation to manage given the resources available to him than say, getting Norwich promoted to the premier league.
  2. Celtic, for me anyway, should be judged on their performance in the domestic cups. It may be the perception of many that Lennon has walked away from the club knowing he can't achieve anymore; in reality I think he knows his squad has gone stale. They were/are always going to win the league, the fact that they didn't win a domestic cup and got humped in the Champions League group stages last season is a sign that they severely under achieved. They might have only lost one game the whole season and they are to be commended for that, but it's hardly one for the history books.
  3. Agreed. But I can't help but think that if Celtic really wanted to do better in Europe then they could stretch the budget to accomodate this. It's obviously completely pointless given the league they play in, so if they were to finance a better squad then they would be overly reliant on CL money to come up with the cash; an early exit from Europe and they'd be fucked.
  4. Go on, somebody take Greece! I drew them out of a hat for Euro 2004 and got laughed at...the rest is history.
  5. Were his resources that limited though? I'm not being cheeky, I just think that they are well equipped to compete at the top level in Europe. It's their low level of domestic compeition that I think lets them down in Europe.
  6. The Suarez injury is presumably nothing compared to the mental damage inflicted on big Yaya. Currently rating his chances of making it as 50/50; we're fucked.
  7. Am I right in thinking Hibees vs Accies is on Sky Sports tonight? My dislike of Hibs comes from their association with the development of Garry O'Connor, Derek Riordan and Leigh Griffiths (I probably hate these footballers more than any other).
  8. This!! And I'm now getting amazon adverts along the bottom of the screen trying to sell me Ivory Coast shirts. I must admit I'm extremely close to giving in to their marketing strategy.
  9. They have to rely on him, and what he has to his advantage is the technical ability to play a more withdrawn role. I can see him being one of those players who moves back into midfield to prolong their career. I was thinking about World Cups of recent years and remember Dwight Yorke doing something similar for Trinidad & Tobago. There was a Britsh guy, Chris Birchall, who also played for T&T that year...

  11. It wouldn't be the most unlikely thing to happen, however he was pretty off the boil against Chelsea in the CL this season.
  12. Looks like I'm following the Ivory Coast this year, at least they have a decent kit.
  13. I think something like this would be awesome in a venue that most people wouldn't usually consider. Don't get me wrong, if the line up is particularly strong then people would hopefully turn up regardless of where it is, but if it was to be a venue tailored to fit the needs of this event people will remember it for a long time. It might even convince more folk to turn up! As for advice on said venue...unfortunately I don't have any to offer; however I'm sure some people on here are bound to have some good ideas or can give examples of places this kind of thing has been done before?
  14. Ok but until you get the certificate you don't actually have those qualifications. There is no need to get defensive, I was just wondering if they'd brought forward results day from August in light of the changes, turns out from a quick look at their web site that they haven't. A bit of advice though; have a good think about what you're posting in terms of the points you make and your grammar. Over the top stories don't impress anybody and neither does getting defensive every time somebody cracks a joke (which may or may not be at your expense) or offers advice. Stop posting every detail of your life on public forums, you're just leaving yourself open to criticism; this is a place for people to shoot the shit about bands, insturments, gigs and other matters of general public interest. I'm not sure your family circumstances (or anybody elses) come under that category...no offence intended. If you're half as smart as your predicted grades would suggest then you're going to look back at most of your posts on here in a few years time and cringe until no end. I'm only talking from experience.
  15. Pardon my ignorance. Do you have your final results certificate from the SQA?
  16. I agree White Limo is a belter. Their first album will always be the best one, there's something about how raw it sounds that I find really endearing.
  17. Ah, straight from School with no qualifications straight to the top of a company. Sounds legit! I'd be interested to hear the band of OAP's that he's forming live in concert.
  18. I think the music will be shite but as said above, it's an interesting concept so it'll no doubt be quite a good watch.
  19. I once owned a Les Paul Studio that I bought on impulse and didn't enjoy it, I just couldn't get on with the tone. I sold it and eventually replaced it with an Epiphone Sheraton ii, which I feel trumps the LP studio in terms of sound. I must say though, my friend has a Gibson Les Paul standard and it is magnificent, but I've also played standards that are garbage. I'm very much a fender man though, and would never replace my USA telecaster with any Gibson.
  20. These sentences are amazing. Based on what you've said, you don't understand the programme either. Foundation equivalent grades (National 3) do still exist across a wide range of subjects, which are all listed here: http://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/45625.3728.html You're making on that foundation level pupils are essentially being forgotten about, when that is not the case at all. This may be the case at your school, but the courses are certainly available nationally for schools to utilise. This curriculum seems to get away from the whole notion that exams are imperative to learning, and more in line with the approach of Universities; ie mixing up different types of assessment based on the subject/level, as opposed to having exams purely for the sake of a convenient assessment method.
