  1. I heard Laudrup was speaking to Celtic? Could be absolute shite but I saw somebody post about it on FB last night.
  2. I always remember the Yakin twins playing for FC Basel in the champions league. I have no idea why it has always stuck in my head.
  3. I didn't realise Buttner is 25; with Evra signing on for another year he has no chance of playing that often, especially is Luke Shaw is joining as well. He'd be as well leaving, I haven't been too impressed with him in all honesty.
  4. PSG will regret signing David Luiz, Pochettino will take Tottenham to the Champions League but still get sacked, Aberdeen will get to the Europa League group stages and Gareth Bale will finally make his England debut.
  5. I use an alternative distortion with a slightly higher 'level' setting, but that's because of me wanting a slightly different, more dirty sound for playing lead parts. If you also want to do this, then that's an option open to you as well.
  6. Congratulations! If this thread helped you get there in any way, I guess it served its purpose. Now go buy a suit, and begin your journey to world domination.
  7. It think it will be. I fancy Hearts to win the division next year, mainly due to their strong finish to the season just finished. Rangers have trimmed their squad without bringing anybody in thus far (I do realise it's May); only rumour I've heard is Kenny Miller potentially re-signing? Anyway he'll be looking for a large final payslip, and the only way I see them storming the division is by matching that signing with one of equal quality, like Kris Boyd for example who will not be available on the cheap given the form he is in. I think their midfield is okay, but in defence they are absolute garbage. Ricky Foster has become a mainstay in their back 4, and Moshni is like a really really really shite David Luiz.
  8. I remember this; Fergie fucking loved Rafael. He was a stubborn manager, which was great in some regards but obviously worked against him on occasion. I said at the time that allowing Pogba to leave was a mistake, but it must have gotten pretty bad before the player himself was determined to leave Man Utd. It speaks volumes for his self belief though, leaving a club like Utd as a totally unproven youngster (who was widely recognised to have bags of potential) to move to Juve and become one of the best players in world football? Moyes could have certainly done with having him last season. What a player.
  9. Fantastic name, even spells it right too.
  10. Ah yes, so he is. It needs to be somebody who can do it long term, I don't see RVP at United in 5 years.
  11. It'll all depend on what Van Gaal wants to do I guess. I read last week that he's expected to make RVP captain; I wouldn't be too happy with that. Maybe it's just the press being ridiculous because they're both Dutch,
  12. Perhaps, but I think he would fit in quite well at United. Our current offering in CM doesn't have any creativity or drive, I like Carrick and Fletcher but United need another dimension to compete for the premier league and Barkley fits the description. Can run at defenders and has taken some of his goals unbelievably well this season. I honestly think he'll be the English player everybody is talking about at the World Cup, like Rooney at Euro 2004.
  13. As a United fan I'd be gutted if we signed McCarthy; for me it would demonstrate a total lack of ambition. He's a handy player, but unless we signed him for a decent fee with view to using him as a squad player I wouldn't be interested. United need at least 3 marquee signings this Summer, with the centre of defence obviously being an area of concern with Vidic/Ferdinand gone. We're also looking particularly light in CM and at full back. I echo what is said above about Ross Barkley, I think he'd be a cracking signing. If United have any sense they'd get in quick before the world cup starts, if he has a decent tournament United won't be the only club interested and will have to pay a ridiculous fee to get him.
  14. We actually didn't concede a single goal in the 2012 African cup of nations with Bamba and Kolo Toure playing at CB before losing the final to Zambia on pens (according to Wiki). Given the clientele involved, that is a tremendous statistic.
  15. Excuse me? Bamba is a proven SPL standard centre half. Him and big Kolo at the back are the human equivalent of bullet proof glass.
  16. We (Ivory Coast) havce selected 4 goalkeepers for the World Cup. I can't wait to see all of them in action. In other news, our front line will consist of Drogba, Kalou, Bony, Gervinho and the Everton Traore; in other words the makings of an unstoppable team. Hopefully Tiote breaks Samaras' legs. EDIT: We haven't selected 4 goalkeepers. I just read the 28 man squad list instead...woops.
  17. It's this point here; it's not like other clubs who are relatively the same as Aberdeen in terms of stature and resources have done any better. The most horrendous thing about it was waiting almost 20 years between the first and second one!
  18. The difference in resources makes that statement completely irrelevant; it's just a dig at Aberdeen more than anything else. In fact, during the time period you've mentioned no team outside of the Old Firm has won a domestic cup more than three times (Hearts). In the 20 years previous to that (1974-1994) Celtic entered 40 and won 9 of them, with Aberdeen winning 8 of the 40 they entered.
  19. It's also pretty mental to suggest they aren't under achieving by being knocked out of both cups in the early stages. But that's the beauty of cup football I guess.
  20. I have an irrational phobia of German sausage. I fear the wurst.
  21. I'm sure I've seen a stage there before, did they not used to do acoustic gigs there or something?
