  1. upstairs of the old kings highway on the green is areet and is available for private functions. dunno about cost etc tho.
  2. it's like they're all dying for a piss but someone locked the bathroom door and they're too polite to just wap it out and make the drummer's mums carpet wet.
  3. i'd take a brilliant gig over food or petrol monies any day. i bet most here would too. also, if you were a promoter, the only reason you'd pay a bands guarantee is because you might be scared of the mates they may potentially have? very astute...
  4. i still have the poster from that drakes gig, it's up on the wall above my bed.
  5. i was in on a wednesday not so long ago and it was reet good fun. better than exo playing an nme cover-mounted cd 5 days out of 7 anyways. got served at the bar pretty quick, it was busy, had enough room to dance and left with a big grin on my puss.
  6. i have a microkorg i'm looking to sell. the only problem is that the plug socket blew up, but i think it can be fixed. 70 and it's yours.
  7. i got 'some kind of cadwallader' on cd. as for lemuria, i got 'get better' and 'your living rooms all over me'. both are fantastic. i managed to get an unmastered get better before xmas. it was a download, but i can't seem to find it now, which is a bugger!
  8. dan le sac vs scroobius pip - angles awesome, just awesome. and i don't even really like much modern hip-hop. got some algernon cadwallader, polar bear club, chillerton, nakatomi plaza and lemuria a few weeks back. looking forward to new bridge and tunnel stuff.
  9. it was indeed an amazing gig. attention were more rocking live than on record, you could hear a bit of a southern rock influence in there. jonah is a beautiful creature, it was a very inspiring set and i hope he comes back soon.
  10. Shit, that's the one. I got confused because for both gigs, I was more into seeing the supports.
  11. American Football and Braid are two of my favourite bands, so it was fun checking out some stuff on the links here. I spin Cap'n Jazz every now and then, but The Promise Ring is my favourite post-Jazz project.
  12. Oh man! I was looking forward to this, heard The Plight were supporting, a band whom I like very much.
  13. I'm sure there are some indie's in Aberdeen that I don't know about, so that dosen't really help.
  14. I've been wanting to get into the textile mill on Hutcheon/Anne street, but I'm too scared as well! People have obviously managed tho, there's loads of graffiti inside.
  15. Hello, I'm currently researching a project and I need some help. Basically, I require information for all the independent shops, cafes, pubs, venues, retailers, promoters etc in Aberdeen that would be of interest of and use to the student and general population, ie The Moorings Bar The Beautiful Mountain Retrospect Good For Nothing? Collective Tunnels etc. If you could reply in this thread with the name, email/website/myspace, phone number and a wee description of each, that would be great.
