  1. Listen to the first 20 seconds of track 8, "Spindley". Pure rotten. The "click" kick drum sound does my head in.
  2. I agree on the Secondsmile EP, it's great, but I didn't see them topping it. I could see them rehashing ideas and sounding bland, had they continued with that kinda stuff. The old singer was a bit of a herbert I believe - refusing to play shows, leaving half-way through sets and just general tittery. I really enjoy "Walk Into The Light...". The new stuff either sounds a bit pedestrian, or really good. I'll buy the album when it comes out. There are some TUNES on the first Jairus album, but that kickdrum sound is a crime against humanity. Hopefully they'll release that 2nd album.
  3. Aye, I heard it when they put the album up for streaming on their page. Just lush. Would be great to see them in Aberdeen.
  4. There are ALOT of Rangers fans in Ayr.
  5. Seconded. GREAT band. Need to get the new album....
  6. What's the Misery Signals EP like? On a Textures related note, they were great at Moshulu last year.
  7. A list of the distros that are selling them are up on the myspace. Probably just as cheap ordering from them - 5.50 or something, postage included. Sticky Sticky are sold out already.
  8. I really like them. Only got properly into them recently. Need to get the latest album.....
  9. 'Fraid not. Just saw there was a gap between the Dundee and Glasgow shows. Asked via the punktastic forums and was told "the 7th has been kept free because no one likes gigs on Mondays". The night before Dundee could work though....
  10. Possibility of an Aberdeen date on the 7th? *crosses fingers*
  11. Excellent set from Jonah. Nice mix of everything. Top bloke. I look forward to his return. The bassist from Attention and Jonah's "backing band" had the greatest collection of rock faces and gurns I have seen in ages. I congratulated him at the end. Attendance was woeful. No more than 60 folk in Moshulu.
  12. I thought they were louder in Glasgow. Twas a strange set. Heaps of new stuff. Still enjoyed it all the same. Folk in Inverness have strange "moves" at gigs. They amused me. Aidan Moffat got on my nerves after two songs. Did anyone else notice the ridiculous number of folk talking at the start of Mogwai's set? Will they ever return?!?!? etc etc.
  13. Seconding the artwork. Glad to see he's drifted away from the classic symmetrical stuff that he used to do for ISIS, Neurosis etc. They were getting a bit samey. The tunes are indeed excellent. You're welcome to that tee Mr. Huw. I'm not even sure what the black ball thing is (a birds nest?), but I'm not really a fan. One of the guys from Phoenix Bodies designed it.
  14. Cheers for that. *panic over*
  15. Anyone going to the Inverness gig received their tickets yet?
  16. New Ocean Fracture single/double A-side thing now for sale, 3 ppd. Go get
  17. That song about Starbucks too.....nae cool.
  18. Saw Remember Remember at that Triptych thing, was pretty good. This gig will be great.
  19. I have a second copy of that evylock 10". PM if interested. I'll be along to the Dundee show. Seconding that, "Yeah, you remember that" appreciation. It's a beast. This thread reminded me of just how much funeral diner i own. Damn ebay.
  20. Taken from good ol' myspace: "They Died Too Young -Died We are sadly going to be calling it a day as from August, This was not an easy choice to make, but we just feel They Died Too Young has come to a natural end.. We are more than happy with all that we have done and achieved.. We never wanted to get onto Top of the pops, but just to travel around with each other, meet new people and play with some of the best bands in the country which we very much enjoyed doing.... We've been playing together since we were 16, and it was nearly ten years ago exactly since our first gig at the Peel way back in August 1998... Some of you will remember the days of 'Throat Oyster' (one show only in a kitchen) 'Anti-Womb' and 'The Womb'.. and if you do, thanks for still being our friend. Thanks to everyone who has ever been to a show, played with us, put us on, put us up for the night, made us breakfast, bought a cd, worn a t-shirt or badge, or supported us in any way. We are all best of friends still and will all surely be doing other projects in the future so keep your eyes peeled. Our last ever gig will be at our spiritual home of the Fighting Cocks in Kingston, and it would mean the world to us if you came down and said goodbye. Its on Saturday August 9th and we will be sure to dust off some old songs for old friends too. *PLEASE NOTE* We want to continue playing shows up to August 9th, So please if you want to put us on one last time just drop us a mail.." This is less good.
  21. They came across this way in Glasgow - at least to me they did anyway. They were told that they were out of time and seemed to go in a bit of a huff, but played one more anyway. We (the crowd) were then told that we had to, "create a mood, yeah". I didn't enjoy them.
  22. Not yet. June I think. The new stuff on the myspace seemed pretty good. I look forward to it. Wish The Ocean Fracture would release some of their new stuff.
