  1. I saw them on Jools Holland too. Nae impressed. They did that "face-off" thing. *cringe*
  2. I take it the Mogwai/Fuck Buttons cdr tracks are downloaded? Any good?
  3. Excited for this. The Greg Haines album is fantastic, and Olafur is 'i' boy. British Expeditionary Force a couple of days later too! *applauds*
  4. Are tickets for this 40 or something ridiculous? I suppose you'll get your money back in pyrotechnics and japes.
  5. This boy was on Dragon's Den the other night. Quite the character.
  6. Found Glissando really dull at Stars of the Lid, but the amount Lyndsay has went on about My Kappa Roots means I'll probably attend this. See what all the fuss is about, ken?
  7. Currently in the process of booking him for Peacocks in November.
  8. Why do some folk play in their bare feet? I've always wondered. Never quite seen the appeal... Really enjoyed Hyena for the first four or so songs, then they slowed it all down and I got a wee bit bored towards the end. Curious to see Okker as a four piece but enjoyed them. That really quiet song was a bit daft in my opinion. Craig/Ashley Park completely ruining it half way through was hilarious. How does the gas mask thing work for Arakan Yoma? That their first gig? "Props" to GTS for putting this on. Niles Crane & Co should put on more gigs.
  9. Freaking awesome band. Roll on the 28th!
  10. Phil Collins - A Groovy Kind Of Love (uk) Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child Of Mine (us) Fairground Attraction - Playground (aus)
  11. I'll be along to this. Flatlands CRUSH live and are super guys too.
  12. Who was the chap with all the beats in between acts? I didn't think that much of Ashley Park at Manatees, but really enjoyed him last night. The covers were real good.
  13. Me and Liz (Elizabeth on here) went in on Saturday. Real nice building/set up. Seems REALLY new, we thought that might have been their first day open, but no. Paninis and teas and that, and wee bit more formal than Kilau etc, but still relaxed enough. There's a stage with drumkit already set up, so "jams" must be quite frequent. They had a piano too. I asked the guy at the counter/bar about the music stuff and he said anyone really can get involved. They encourage most stuff - poetry readings/jazz/country. No gigs will be held though, much more of an open mic/playing in the background kinda setup. The food was quite good but there were some weird fillings (weird to me anyway) - chicken, cocunut sauce or something, and peanut butter. Liz said it was nice. *shrugs* We got there quite late though, and most of the more popular stuff had gone. Alot of art on the walls, looks as if a real effort had been made! There were signs for function/reception rooms too. I'd encourage folk to at least give it a go.
