    Help...

no, reletively sure he used an aguilar head too. Photo Album You can see it in the background there. thats mike's stack to the left. if you on a site called music shmit in germany you can get them shipped for a similar price to thomann. yeah, good point. i have 2x250 watt out puts on the back of my amp and 2X'full range inputs' on my cab, but that still would be mono. unless one is for daisy chaining. i'm nae really sure, regardless it stopped and i was happy.

    Help...

can't say i didn't see that coming. one day though... one day. i was looking at aguilar cabs too as i saw Jeff from Isis using one when they played glasgow with Oxbow. they look mighty fine.
  3. that made my day. listened to russian circles on the myspack. cool as fuck. some awesome melodies, such a cool sound. cheers.

    Help...

cheers for all that. it seemed to just be a case that plugging the left output on my amp into the right input on the cab made the sound if i connect it R-R or L-L it's fine. if it reoccurs sound control will be recieveing a phone call. they're good there though, should be fine. on the subject of bass cabs... i have this 4x10 just now, would it be better to buy another 4x10 (probably have to be a cheaper one) or a 1x15 for a more 'rounded sound'.

    Help...

i'm still broke from buying the thing, i'm nae really in any position to be spending 60 on shipping if i can fix it with a much lesser expense. cheers anyway.

    Help...

Yeah i've seen a bunch with out the cover. i think you take the ampeg badge plus the model badge off and it'll come off. i just tried plugging the speaker lead into the other input though and the buzzing decreased dramatically. sorted for now. don't think i'm going to cry anymore. chinese made ampegs...? that sounds sinful.

    Help...

I don't know why this has posted twice... hmm well it only happens after halfway, but on a 250 watt amp i suppose thats not that much. surely not though, a week? unless playing it at too low a volume could bugger it?

    Help...

i can't find the warrantee... is it just a standard Ampeg thing? the buzzing only occurs when i'm playing at higher volumes or when the signal level peaks. fropm the looks of things that particular speaker looks to be vibrating (in a normal speaker-like fashion) too much. i'm pretty reluctant to open her up though the front panel doesn't really come off as such.

    Help...

I'll have to have a root around for the warrantee. i don't remember getting one :S I ordered it online too so sending back will be an incredible pain in the ass.

    Help...

Bought a brand new bass cab, it's about a week old. Only been played once at high volume for any length of time. The top right speaker has started buzzing and it sound shite and is pissing me off no end. The cab can handle something like 400 watts and my amp is rated at 250 RMS so i don't think that'd be a problem. I'm playing an Ashdown Superfly 2x250 through an ampeg 410 HLF and if this continues i'm going to throw a hissy. I've been mega careful. anyone know why? Huw
  12. Fiji have played a fucking blinder this world cup. it's mental. Well if it's between France and SA - the French are on home soil... they'll probably lose. Maybe if the Argies win then they'll have an ANNUAL competition to play in rather than just a four-yearly one.
  13. new zealand; out. australia; out. northern hemisphere rugby crap is it...? tossers. unfortunately england is in the northern hemisphere, but still all is well. Apparently Scotland "havn't shown their hand yet", maybe we have a chance against the Argies. Aye... ok. still though; 'Mon i boys.

    Distortion

yeah. i don't. i used to have my gain on 2 or 3. and the mids around 7. sounded ok, but always felt it lacked clarity. even with my tele. mind you i was playing through a line 6 spider if there is only one guitar in a band it seems to sit a lot better, cuts through nicely. any more than that its just fizz. i am surprised you couldn't find anything better though. i've been trying it out with my bass recently and i just cant get any presence. ill keep trying though cause it does sound cool.

i'm still in love with panopticon. its the perfect album; for me anyway. Less heavy than oceanic but the way all the guitars and stuff come together and the melodies are just... yummy. i don't agree that the new one is a big let down though. it is mellower, but i still enjoy a lot of it. i really like the mosquito control ep. its kind of doomier, but with a bit of pace about it and some gorgeous riffs and stuff. the songs do tend to meander a bit though. I don't think much of The Red Sea, i'd avoid that.
  16. there is a version with just one settiong though. the rack is like 270 off thomann. Search Results - Page 1 - U.K. International Cyberstore You could use an eq to push your mids or just do it on the equaliser on your amp if you have one. that all depends on whether you just want one sound the whole time or a couple of different sounds. aye the programmable one is the one i was talking about and the one i use. It is good apart from what Scott has already mentioned.
  17. the man himself. yeah that annoys me. could really do with a mid and even a frequency control.

    Distortion

as in the Marshall amp? what are the drive settings like on it?
  19. yeah they're pretty good. i've used one for a while now. just make your bass sound that bit better. and handy is you want a couple of sounds ie. warm clean to drive. its a 9V power supply just like boss pedals etc. so no. Scott from blessed was selling one a while back... nae sure if he still has it. probably not.

    Distortion

sounds painful. although Kurt Ballou from Converge uses a Metal Zone and it sounds cool as fuck. someone told me that the metal muff doesn't give enough of the low end aswell. apparently an equaliser with the bass frequencies boosted made it sound a lot better. Stomp Boxes are easy to use and a lot cheaper than an amp, but for the perfect drive/distortion sound you have to sacrifice something from the clean and vice versa. never good. better off just getting a valve amp with a nice thick drive channel.

    Scrubs Season 6

scrubs had a lovely poingancy (is that a word? hmmm) to it before, but now it is becoming horribly laboured. almost like everyone knows their character too well and the writers know what people can and can't do etc. has picked up in the last few weeks though. a bit. a lot of the time they seem to be taking the piss out of themselves to such an extent that it seems like the writers just could not be arsed. at all. like the one with the flashbacks... that was a massive waste of my time. zach and 'the gang' will pick it up though. im sure of it.
  22. never heard of them, but aye it's alright. the boy certainly has a mighty roar on him.

    Distortion

Proco rat sound absolutely beautiful in my opinion. It can go from a crunchy (i cannot think of another word) overdrive to a full distortion and maintains a lot of clarity even when maxxxxed out on the distortion knob. Doesn't alter your tone too muchthe filter is great for pushing the mids a bit from your clean tone so you can cut through or just add a bit more clarity on chords.
