  1. It's pretty unfortunate and I agree that they've been among Liverpool's best players so far this season. Gomez is a big loss, particularly given his versatility and the lack of (good) defenders Liverpool have. They have a bit more cover in attack but given that this includes Sturridge and Benteke those other options might easily find themselves on the treatment table soon as well. They're going to have to do this to Sturridge:

  3. For all those of you who are worried about Klopp going to Liverpool, remember that there's a cheery side to it as well: https://twitter.com/piersmorgan/status/536541909896798209
  4. Let's do a bit of thread resurrection... Anyone have any recent experiences with getting new windows fitted in Aberdeen? Any companies that are good or should be avoided?
  5. Or even a draw... Kind of feel bit sorry for Rodgers. He's made mistakes but has had successes too. I wonder if Liverpool's action is at least in part because they want to get the pick of available managers before Chelsea seek a new appointment.

  8. Had a fine time last weekend at End of the Road Festival. Hard to say what the highlights were, although Ex Hex, Low, Sufjan, This is the Kit, The Drink, Jane Weaver, Alvvays, Jessica Pratt, Houndstooth, Hinds and Stephen Steinbrink were all pretty great. Some good comedy too. Nice weather, decent food, toilets that worked. Excellent festival.
  9. This sounds like a worthwhile venture. I quite like Le Thug from what I've heard. Hope there are some more IMP shows coming up through the autumn.
  10. Although they're always giving decisions against Chelsea, I heard someone say once... The Liverpool goal was certainly offside going by the new rules. The decision against the Bournemouth goal was a bit soft but I could see why it was given. It's a bit hard not to foul people these days though.
  11. Verma "Sunrunner' Krautrocky psychedelic rock from Chicago. Sometimes pounding, sometimes hypnotic, always great. Rating: 9
  12. Always nice to see a flying back heel go in: https://vine.co/v/edOMKYBa0KT Especially from the goalie.
  13. Yes. It aided in the conception of Gary Neville.

  15. Was quite a nice goal but it was against Swindon in a pre-season friendly. I guess cameras are there because people want to watch, and lots of folks miss football over the summer (even people on this forum, I think). It's now become a lot easier to watch these games via the internet, which is both good and bad in some ways, and that also explains why there are more reports on them in the media with sometimes outlandish headlines. I actually find them quite interesting games at least for seeing new signings, new formations and reserve/ youth players you don't get to see very often.

  17. There's a new Julia Holter album out in September. Here's a song from it: She's also playing Glasgow on my birthday. Life is good.
  18. That video seems to have run through a few different 'Welcome to...'s since it was posted in February. Players always look good in those, understandably. Someone needs to do a video of players shooting wide or misplacing passes or maybe an 'X being totally anonymous and having no effect on the game, Season 14-15'. That would be a bit more balanced at least.
