  1. Obviously a fault of lancelot the random band generator...
  2. Just uploaded a couple HalfJack songs we recorded about a year ago at Captain Toms. Thought they might as well go up seeing as there not being used in any other capacity. Let us know if you have an oppinion. They're called See you next tuesday and Wake up in the westend Cheers Diarmaid MySpace.com - HalfJack - Aberdeen, UK - Rock / Pop / Funk - www.myspace.com/halfj
  3. You know, not that i've known all the bands from the other polls, but i know less if not none of these than any other one so far. Or at least i've heard of them but not actually heard them. Not that i want to waste my vote but I hate bands sticks out clearest for me so far...
  4. Any one else heard it yet. Just finished listening to it all on myspace. Was actually suprised. I'm not a huge fan, only know Abbatoir Blues... well enough to have an oppinion, but i really enjoyed this album. It should be checked out, for free. D
  5. Someone should quickly create band named protest vote! and steal all the thunder. If any one cares that much of course. I doubt it.
  6. Unfortunately I never got a chance to see Persopolis. Though I absolutely loved Ratatouille. In fact, until 'No Country...' came along it was my favourtie of 2007. Big kid maybe, but it was awesome.
  7. Or not. Not seen it yet myself, intend to go sometime this week. A friend of mine ended up going with his work, as a 'work outing'. Oil companies have such fun it would seem. He didn't like it but I'm still really looking forward to it. D
  8. Sometimes I think they can be guilty of being rather predictable, but here it was good to see some left field choices, especially Diablo Cody winning for Juno and Marion Coutillard for La Vie En Rose. Was really hoping that Coens would win aswell, especially since i think 'No COuntry...' is by far the best moive they've done, and near flawness. Daniel Day-Lewis was predictable, though he did deserve it. What are other peoples thoughts on the winners? D
  9. Hey there, HalfJack would be interested in coming in for a chat, and could easily do a few acoustic numbers. Let us know if that could suit. Diarmaid

Hey Gemma, will our gig on the 3rd of may still be ok? If so will i have to get in contact with dave to finalise any details nearer the time? Diarmaid
  11. To be honest i think the show's pretty decent, however, it does seem that the shit outweighs the not shit. Though i have to say that on the show i dont mind mister holland either. Despite coming off as a self righteous knob half the time. What was his old band called again? Was it Squeeze or something?
  12. Yeah, the first one, sopa hammer i like. BUt yeah, rest is just dull and really not all that special. Though having read reviews it would appear we are alone in our oppinion, most people seem to think its awesome. Bloody Ginger fans...
  13. Put up a post on the Networking section of this site. Thats always a decent bet. Where are you trying to organise a night for anyway? D
  14. Hi there. We'd be interested in playin the gig. And similarly, we've often played without payment. Let me know if we'd suit. HalfJack MySpace.com - HalfJack - Aberdeen, UK - Rock / Pop / Funk - www.myspace.com/halfj
  15. Just put up a very early and rough demo version of a new HalfJack song. Only me and piano. If you can spend 6:50 listening to it that would be lovely. It might pay off. It might not. Any thoughts would be nice too. Called 'Stop to breathe' Forgive the occasional interference. Me, piano, small room and bad microphone. Jokes

How do you make a dead baby float? Two scoops of ice cream, two scoops of dead baby and a pint of coke.
  17. Lauryn Hill 'Doo Wop (That Thing) Eels 'It's a Motherfucker' Arcade Fire 'Wake Up' Bruce Springsteen 'Candy's Room' Iggy & The Stooges 'Death Trip'
  18. Don't know if any one else has bought this, but i think Ginger's lost the plot. Why do people insist on 21 songs on a single album. As a result i'd say a lot of this is self indulgent tripe. And also, so bizzarely off the track. I thought Valor Del Carazon was good, and while not a huge fan of Yoni, i did quite like all the left field songs on the albums. But theres some stuff on this new one thats just down right strange (if only form a Ginger Wildheart perspective). Theres one song that sounds as if its been writing as a new CBBC theme song. I hope its a grower, cause it definetly isn't an instant classic, and for the first time with Ginger, or the wildhearts, I'm really quite unimpressed. Any other oppinions on the album?
  19. Theres a lot to be said for that. I think a lot of bands, espeically new ones are put off putting music up because their unlikely to get decent feedback from anyone. Even if they do put stuff up, i think unless you're a well established band most people won't even give half the stuff put up a second glance.
  20. Nobody (or at least very very few) people seem to get or like the ending. It wasn't what i was expecting but i thought it was good. Bassically the idea that tommy lee jones (the old man) doesn't understand all the violence and can't keep up with it. 'No country for old men'. And yeah, sometimes in real life, the bad guys win.
  21. To be honest its not really a bad thing. I'm sure i remember reading something ages ago about how Universal were going to consider doing it legally, so you could get it online at the same time as it was at the cinema. Not just these screening ones but for anyone. To be honest, i probably would do it to if my computer didn't get scared and run away at the thought of any major downloads.
