  5. Guitarist and bassist looking to form reggae/punk/ska/dub band previews of ideas Hey there my name is Tom I'm 17. I'm primarily a bass player but at the moment I'm trying to start a new project in which I sing and play guitar. I have a bassist already but no other players. If anyone is in the slightest bit interested please email or PM me. I'm mainly looking for a lead guitarist and drummer but brass or keys would be awesome too. Here are a few ideas which i've been working on: http://www.filelodge.com/files/room23/597714/kind%20%20of%20blue%20louder.wav http://www.filelodge.com/files/room23/597714/one%20year%20or%20so.mp3 http://www.filelodge.com/files/room23/597714/see%20that%20girl2.mp3 I'm looking to jam somewhere in the Oldmeldrum kind of area. if your interested please get in touch, cheers Tom
  6. i like your influences a lot but im a bit busy at the moment
  7. I saw El Presidente supporting Feeder a month or so ago, I thought they were terrible. There songs go no where and go on for ages. They are so middle of the road it makes you queasy. The only interesting thing is the drummer. That is really harsh I know but I have to say I feel this way, I don't see why they should be playing over other local bands that are much better. Tom
  8. I would say Guns n Roses are the most overated band ever. Can't stand them.
  9. I enjoyed it. Finally you guys did a song after I said to him so many times to write something. Where did you record it? Tom p.s. nice bass line, could be louder
  10. yeah im sorry that was quite a harsh comment i like there older stuff, same with vox amps in my opinion
  11. Watch out with some wireless equipment you loose some of the gain and treble and just general definition sometimes in your sound. But if you want to jump about like slash or any other "cool" guys thats up to you I guess
  12. i was going to go, but didn't because i thought there'd be too many neds. shame i there an alright band
  13. - sounds good im there. Do you think the tickets are going to sell out by friday?
  14. where did you get yours from? the website im looking at is £179 i think
  15. I was thinking about getting one too beef up my sound a bit. anyone got one? or heard about them? worth the money? cheers Tom
  16. I'm 16 years old been playing bass for just about 3 years. I have all the equipment for me including 180 watt bass amp ready for gigging. I previously played in a cover band that was commented by some dude from the lemon tree as very good but the drummer left. I'm looking to start/join a band who are wanting to write music and play gigs in Aberdeen. Although i live out of town (in methlick the middle of no where) i could easily get into town. my influences are: The Who, The Beatles, The Jam, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Muse, Queens of the Stone age, The Rolling stones, the sex pistols, bob marley, the clash, the stokes, the coral.... the list goes on i would like to be in basically any band that is serious in writing and playing music and trying to achieve a good reputation. I would be especially interested in a reggae or mod/punk band but im not too bothered as i like a bit of every kind of music.
  17. I've never seen the Ordinary Boys before, but I really enjoyed the gig. Most gigs that I have gone to the support bands haven't been that great but the Bedouin Sound Clash were really good and I would have liked if they had played longer. The bassists from The Ordinary boys and the Bedouin Sound Clash were really good. When i first heard the Bedouin Sound Clash's single on the radio i thought it was a poor attempt to copy Bob Marley but the song came across so much better live, and they seemed more individual than an average pop band. I agree that they should have played less A sides because on the first album they have so many crowd pleasers. The beach ball room is a pretty cool venue it seemed huge at the start but soon filled up. On the whole its good to see Mod/Punk/Soul bands, or whatever you want to class the ordinary boys as, on the increase.
