  1. voltage regulators Your temperature sensors are more likely to be Voltage Regulators. They are bolted to the metal plate for cooling as they get hot and can blow up if not cooled properly. You will somehow need to find out the specs or type. I would remove them and check if anything is written on it or any indication of type? Or maybe try to ask Marshall Maplin sells some common types: Maplin > Voltage Regulators or else try RS components, they'll definitely have them.
  2. Thats funny you mention it, mine came with a roller type bridge as well which i did not like, so i replaced with a standard Gotoh Tune-O-Matic bridge. As in: It works but you have to be easy on the strings when fingerpickling, or you'll knock the strings out of the saddles. Still looking to try other options like the bar you have. The pickguard was originally gold colour, i sprayed it black.. Your 6119 looks great by the way.
  3. It has the original Filtertrons - I heard that before about the TV Jones' so that will go on the christmas list. Thanks The Orange Rocker 30 is class A and has fantastic clean and overdrive sound. Probably best compared to Vox. It is 30 Watts, but you can play places like the globe with volume halfway!
  4. Lc15 What you want is a Laney LC15, it is 15W all tube, great sound, great value. Ask Domino, i think he has one?
  5. Gretsch Ok, so i like Orange things: It is a Gretsch 6120 Anniversary. I also have this Laney TT but i am selling it, because it is not orange.
  6. Kinda like the same as US versus Japanese cars...
  7. strap button The Tokai Firebird is very poorly balanced because they placed the strap button at the side. On my Firebird guitar i removed it and fitted it on the back roughly where the neck and the body join. It is much better balanced that way. I am not sure about the bass, but it probably works as well.
  8. The Tokai Thunderbirds are made in Korea (in fact very recently the production moved to China i think). The Japanese Tokais are much better, but i have never seen a Japanese Firebird.
  9. Since everyone seems to be selling off his amps today, lets join in. Although not in any particular hurry, i will be selling my fabulous Laney TT100H Head and TT412 cab. The cab is loaded with 4X 12 inch Celestion Vintage 30s. The head features 4XEL34 class A/B 100W tube power. It's 3 channel (clean, crunch, overdrive) and thus very versatile. See also Harmony Central where it received a 9.6 (and i did not even submit my own feedback yet). As used e.g. by Razorlight. The set has been gigged several times, hence little tolex tears on the edges of the cab (see pic). Other than that in mint condition and 100% working order. It comes with a Laney footswitch (switching 3 channels, reverb on/off and lead volume on/off). These are quite rare and will cost you new over 1000 quid, but i am willing to let it go for 500 gbp for the head 250 gbp for the cab 700 gbp for the set. PM me if interested.
  10. A pick-up can only be out of phase with another pick up. So if it's a single coil, and it is used on it's own (i.e. not in 2nd or 4th switch position), it shouldn't make any difference which way to connect it. It only is important to have all three in the same phase when you use them together. Did you exeriment with the pick-up height? It can make quite a difference.
  11. Is this cab meant to be open back or is there the option to be wholly or partially closed? What is the bottom end like open?
  12. But if you are unlucky customs will charge you import duty / vat if you order from the states. This happened to me a couple of months back when i ordered something from Stewmac. It's a gamble.
  13. This is the old analog X digital discussion ! I think that if you filter out some high freqs and add some white noise, your Micro-BR will sound just like a 4-track tape. The real warm analog sound, as observed in tube amplifiers e.g. is caused by increased dynamic range and subtle compression curves as compared to digital systems. But cheaper tape based recorders do not have a better dynamic range, they only have squeezed spectrum and noise. I am sure i won't change your mind though!
  14. Go for a Boss Micro BR This is high on my shopping list, i would go for a Boss Micro-BR if i were you. Costs 150 quid new, you have 50 left for effects or mics . It has 8 virtual tracks, it is digital so you can ping pong without loss of quality (as opposed to anything analog) and it fits in your pocket. It got effects built in and a drum machine. There are no advantages in going analog unless you go for really expensive boutique gear. I am sure there are other opinions on this though.
  15. check pm Tav - I'll take'em if still available. Check your pm. Good marketing campaign guys.
  16. It probably does, although i only recently tried a DeVille which is 4X10 and thus sounds slightly thicker. The Hot Rods are 3 channels, you don't get the extra overdrive channel on the Super 60. The Clean channel of the Super 60 is classic Fender clean, but is not very loud, see Harmony Central for some comments about that. The overdrive channel is Fender tone heaven 8-)
  17. SORRY HAS BEEN SOLD ALREADY TO ONE LUCKY GUY ... and to all the rest of you, here's what you missed
  18. Groove Cruise is playing Live At The Boardroom (upstairs of the Office)
  19. sold Ah yes i see thanks. I missed that by an hour 180 is a good price.
  20. sold ?? please explain ?? did you sell it for 180 on ebay or is it still available and are you willing to sell it for 180 ?
  21. frets Quick question - what's the condition of the frets? Was there ever any fret job done?
  22. Not sure you can generalise like that. I have 2 Tokais, one feels absolutely great, the other is average at best. Same with all Fenders really, it depends. Besides, arent LTD's different?
