Tonight: Lump considerable £££ on the Euro's, on a very hot (four figure) streak at the moment. Tomorrow: As above, then darts team night out in Montrose. It's my first proper night out of the calendar year, so I expect the alcohol-o-meter to click past 'mildly bladdered' to 'totally newscasted' at some point after 10pm. Sunday: More Euro betting with some F1 spread betting fun, hangover permitting!

I've reckoned all along that demotion to the West Of Scotland juniors would be ideal: they can sign a pile of 42 year old mercs who played for Ayr United in the mid-90's, give fat Sally a run out, and enjoy phyrric back to back victories in the Rusting Shipyard Metals cup over titans of the game like Sauchie Juniors and Neilston FC. So long!

Massive couple of weeks for the SPL coming up. The silence from Neil 'Cockwomble' Doncaster, the man who did not 'envisage' a Newco scenario, is telling. He probably has his head in the sand hoping everything will blow over his arse and will come out in the wash. Stewart Milne's position is the one to watch IMO: I suspect he would like to vote the Newco through given his previous stance on a 10-team SPL (and the fact he has a massive stadium in the works to try and keep full), but the amount of pressure from his own support might be enough to force him into a corner and block any application for Govan 2012 FC. Ditto Stephen Thompson. C****c are in a hilariously impossible spot: they either enrage a huge swathe of the fanbase, or cut off a more valuable source of £££ for them compared to the other 10 clubs. My fear is that any vote will be kept as a secret ballot (transparency? aye right...) to try and shoehorn the dirty fuckers right back in. If that happens, then fan armageddon looks likely to happen, and will probably bring about a slow decline in the SPL before eventual death. No-one wins, everyone just loses slowly.....

Yeah. Saturday 30th June for this one. Not fancying my chances because I've not been able to practise much lately, and I'll also be off the drink because I'm running the Stoney Half Marathon the day after.....

The noises they made from their press conference were very doomy indeed: the SFA hearing documents were released earlier, and very damning of some of the ex-R****** directors. Not getting too excited, but beginning to the dirty scummers just go out of business after all.....

I've probably said this before, but the entire Scottish game is hostage to the OF: the other clubs are hostage to them because they don't have the spine to ditch them for fear of lost £££, the press are hostages to them because they have to write 6 pages of syncophantic guff about them every day for fear of losing £££, and the governing bodies are hostage to them over the TV deal that would cost them £££. The top end of the game has been run on the money fear factor for 10 years (since the period Murderwell/Dundee/Dunfermline/Franchise Bastards were in admin) and counting. I'm still hopeful the cheating bastards will be brought to book, but if a newco-R*****s gets to skip £50million of the public purse and get off relatively scot-free, then the game is well beyond a bogey and anyone walking into an SPL ground paying £20+ to watch a 'fair sporting competition' is a total mug....

The SFA dished out the maximum they could there, suspect they did it with a thoughT for how it might play with UEFA/FIFA. The fines mean bugger all, but the transfer embargo would be a beautiful blow if it were to stick. FTOF, GIRFUY, etc....

Good stuff Spoons! The more you play the better, it's all about picking up experience: even though I've had a largely stinking season, I've still learned plenty after doing the full calendar. And there is one trophy wating for me at the Croon next Saturday, so not all bad! Collected nicely on a Whitlock/Painter double last night too. Boom!

In all seriousness, Johnny Mac has it right: any newco-R****** that gets parachuted into the Self Preservation League with a token points penalty would kill the league off: I suspect it would be the last straw for most non-OF supports, which are down to the hardcore already. My money's on them being demoted to SFL1 with aforementioned points deduction, but I'd prefer them out of the game altogether, natch....
