  1. Devils advocate is that the non-SPFL team have already won anywhere between 1 and 4 games and have a pile of momentum behind them as opposed to the shitey Hibs/Killie XI that have been taking regular hammerings. (Hamilton Comicals smacked 10 past Morton on Saturday. Ouch.) Nae worried about that though, just glad that the Montrose/A******h derby is back next year, fuck yer El Classico....
  2. All that matters today is that Ar*****h got relegated. Smokie bastards are back in the toilet next year. YAS.
  3. Sorry to poop yer party, but Skye is pretty much as ugly as Stoney hills wise, from what I've heard. In for BH, will be delighted with any time under an hour on current form....
  4. News is nae overly great, sadly - I seem to have lost one of the beaters, and there's a couple of parts missing from the right-kick pedal. Could only realistically sell it as a work in progress for about 40/50 quid to someone who has the time/effort to sort it, so probably not what yer after....
  5. Gradually making progress, possibly thanks to going back to my old shoes. Park-running Saturday....
  6. Got an Iron Cobra (strap drive rather than chain) sitting about that hasn't been used in an age - need to check the nick of it, but willing to flog it cheap. Up yer street?
  7. Once bolted from an office after just two weeks, realising it was one of the most godless excuses for a job ever. Gave no notice and simply didn't bother going in the following week. Three days, and several angry e-mails later, I effectively told them I couldn't be hooped. I did leave a brand new expensive mug in the kitchen though, which was annoying. Pretty sure everyone's fantasized about doing the big 'fuck off speech', very nearly did this once to an unfathomable old bat who was the worst boss you could imagine, but bottled it...
  8. Is there such a thing as 'runners block'? Finally back out 3 times a week at shorter distances, but feeling very heavy, slow and struggling. Beating last year's BH time feels like a massively tall order....
  9. Man Utd looking for an authoritarian who rules with an iron fist? SEND IN THE JOCKY: 'Eh'll get thon fuckin' primadonna cunts telt..'

    Your bets

Had a pretty substantial amount on DUtd -1 at 3/1 this afternoon. Printing money!
  12. About 300 left. I've entered, sod it. See you all in the pub afterwards...
  13. Nothing too ugly, thankfully. Recurring left-ankle injuries have been the bane of my life - a combination of poor double-kick drumming technique and an old cycling injury mean it's my weak spot. Could have it operated on, but don't fancy that hassle unless utterly, utterly necessary. Being chalking up the walking miles this week, hope to finally get going next week, albeit a month late. Still undecided about Baker Hughes.
  14. The sad thing is that a lot of fitba fans are total arseholes in this regard. One of the older Montrose fans at Stirling on Saturday was shouting 'RESIIIIIIIIGN GARDEN', and on going 0-1 down, got out of his chair and casually yet comically walked towards the dugout to give him the verbals. If he was a Beano character, you'd have drawn fizzy lines coming out the top of his head and made his cheeks extra red. After one of the stewards ordered him back to his seat like a three year old being sent to the naughty step, he piped down. At 1-1, the shout became 'DON'T RESIIIIIIIIIIGN GARDEN'. And at 2-1 down etc etc etc..........
  15. New Williams looks absolutely stunning. Get McLaren to bring back the Gulf colours and half the grid will be doing paintjob timewarps.
  16. 2 miles back in last night and injured already. Shite. Fancied a go at this as a dry-run for Stonehaven, however I'm on a sticky wicket moneywise just now so might have to wait. Reliably informed it's a beaut of a course, and you get Talisker in the goody bag at the end....
  17. Proper training kicks off next week, giving myself a one month headstart over last year. Think I've resigned myself to just being a 'summer season' runner, sucks pole going out in the winter when I've been out for the odd run. No races until July probably. Baker Hughes is tempting but getting very pricey for a 10k on a not-terribly brilliant route...

    Pet Hates!

Imagine being a dropout-junkie type falling asleep en route from the Costa Del Tilly to city centre, and waking up at Bieldside. It would be the ultimate Jim Bowen on Bullseye 'here's what you could have won' moment....
  19. Bomber Brown sacked by Dundee, there's only one thing that can save their promotion chance now:
  20. Last year I did two shortish runs midweek, then the long 'un Saturday/Sunday, I roughly pilfered the plan from the Loch ness Marathon website. This year I'm planning on mixing it up a bit with some cycling thrown in. And like Chris, want to fire in a sub-2hr half marathon (though it probably won't happen at Stonehaven....)
  21. Ran a marathon last year (Moray, touch over 4hr45), and running another one this year (Loch Ness, aiming for sub 4hr30). Was going to do the D33 but got ill over Christmas/New Year and don't have enough time to train properly for it. Really got into the habit of enjoying the long weekend runs last year (one of the benefits of living in Teuchter country), but didn't enjoy having legs that felt like I had lead shot running through my veins...
  22. NO. You choose to follow (follow) that lot and you deserve the ridicule. Buying a Sevco season book is the same as handing your money to an investment bank without getting any of it back, other than faux delusions of footballing superiority....

    Pet Hates!

That's par for the course for him. Still an utter knobber.
  24. There was another thread on here that contained some of Ben/Rinky Weapon's 'questionable' wisdom. Are MMW dead (metaphorically) then?
