Levein getting harder to defend by the day after those two showings. Rotten.
Oh, and I had a squiz at the Sevco vs Montrose tickets at Scumbrox, £17? Aye right!...
-
Scorge household Monopoly was played to the book until we came into a second set, then it turned into pretend hyper-capitalism gone mad: double the starting money along with the free parking bounty, and then an 'unlimited hotels' rule which once saw a roll on Mayfair cost £12000. Ooof.
Anyone remember the Crystal Maze board game? That was the absolute tits.....

Horrible stuff Bags.
I've just been on the wrong end of a crime myself and have a rough idea how rotten it feels. Glad you're keeping positive, I'd have been boiling about it...

Reading in the paper that Rangers could make a move for Michael Fink. Why would anyone sign for Rangers at this moment in time?
Filthy £££, I presume!
Fat Sally clearly has no confidence in his ability so has no option to go and buy the league (and the referees, based on yesterday) rather than blend a team together. I hope Forres dig in and get their cup tie at home, give those overpaid merecenaries another uncomfortable afternoon next month....

You playing for the LK team?
Yeah, there's been quite a few call-offs so I got asked yesterday if I'd have a go at it.
Excited, nervous and terrified, just like the seconds leading up to being devirginised all over again....
(Just remembered that the Angus singles competition is on Sunday so might do that instead of hillwalking, depending on how tonight goes....)
-
Expendables 2: Just like the first one really. Good waste of two hours, leave brain at door, etc...
-
Tonight: Playing Super League darts in Brechin, first call up.
Saturday: Home alone. Drink beer and play music very loud.
Sunday: Hill-walking, depending on weather.

Trains. Specifically, to London. Why does anyone get the train to London from Aberdeen?
Most of the reasons have been covered, but I'd add that you don't have to worry about baggage charges and being skinned on the way back. Or paying stupid credit/debit card surcharges, which the 'budget' airlines seem to have a hard-on for.
Put simply, I hate air travel more than by rail.....

Meet the new Scum, same as the old Scum!
Biggest laugh of the afternoon was at the Hedgies equaliser and the home support singing 'Are you Forfar in disguise?' Plenty of Sevco mercenaries earning their SPL wage packets on that showing!
Nice win for Montrose yesterday, albeit against a ropey HL side....

Tonight - Couple of snifters in Brewdog before a very noisy gig at the Tunnels (my first of the year!)
Tomorrow - Lakeside darts qualifiers in Smokieville (faint hope, but still) then a lot of beers I'd imagine.
Sunday - Massive clearout of stuff for Ebay. Possibly a CD/DVD cannon list on here, I'll see...
-
Not even close i fear, the SFA will now step in and overrule this, and i would imagine push for an SPL2.
SPL2 is a massive bluff, not even chancers like Regan and Donkeymaster will get it through (that's if they stay in post, vote of no-confidence rumoured to have been taken too!)
Wonder how many 'loyal' currant buns will turn up at Ochilview in the pissing rain on a Tuesday night in December if their patchwork ensemble of under 18's and remaining mercenaries are getting cannoned regularly? Not many I'll wager!

Friday night - poker
Saturday - poker then Stoney Folk Festival aftermath
Sunday - spread betting on British GP, then beers/darts in the Western if I win big
-
Ultravox - Brilliant (bought for my mother, but gave it a spin, not too shoddy)
Ice Cube - The Predator
Paul Buchanan - Mid Air (glorious)

Quelle surprise!
I can see the whole Sevco FC debacle playing out like a series of The Wire where all the corrupt arseholes with the power and the stature cover their backsides and shit on everyone below, and nothing ever improves.
Sigh....

Sounds good! Matty was telling me about that last game, that's his practice partner. I've been on holiday in Munich all week so a bit rusty tonight (and tired) but darts tomorrow night so I'll see how I get on then and if I get a throw!)
You get a chuck?
Aye, it was a cracking day, and the spears continued in the Royal late into the evening as you'd expect. Really hyped up to practise all that bit more after getting a bit lousy over the last month...

So, the Granite City Open then:
Got in just after 11am, found myself on board 13 (as omens go, nae brilliant) and went with lager/shandy in hand (unlike some I was actually trying to pace myself!) straight into practise routines for around 45 mins. Was drawn to play third against a guy I didn't recognise (later said he played Ellon league) who turned out to be a pretty even match, not stunning but not a total muppet either!
Couldn't get scoring first game at all and went 1 down within sight of a double, but then I smacked a 24 darter in the next leg for 1-1. Third leg saw me outscore him but I made a pigs ear of things with 54 left, the first attempt saw my dart slip into the treble, the second saw me miss the D18 by a skerrick. 1-2.
The next two legs both saw me getting outscored, far too many nervy darts clipping the T1 or flying off into the 12/18. Even so, I got two darts at D17 to level the game but I put them just under. 1-3 down, and I never recovered after that: too many stray shots in the 5th and he took it out with me waiting on 60. 1-4.
Good day out though, and there were some good showings from the LDDL'ers, one of whom got to his board final against Mark Barilli: he lost 4-1, but gave him a heck of a game (Barilli was having to smack in 12/14 darters to win.)

First proper night out in six months yesterday = slow death today.
Jagerbombs are bad, kids.
*spew*

Hungover like a bastard today, and been raped on the F1 spread betting.
If England win tonight you'll find me atop a very large building. Bah.

No asterisks?!?!
The perils of drunk posting!
(To clarify the previous post, a few Montrose regulars tend to have one random away trip per year down south, Whitby Town is being touted for this year. Criteria mainly includes diddy towns with a truckload of pubs...)
-
No worries Del, when Cambridge come down to Whitby/Guisborough etc for an FA cup prelim tie we'll be there having a few beerz and the like!
At least yer no longer Rangers!

Unlucky. There's nowt worse than blowing a lead, all too familiar with that.
Ran up another 9-0 against the Lassies only to chuck away a perfectly winnable game against the Western last week, I only played the pairs but we should have taken our game. Redhall tomorrow comes under 'must win'....
