We had a tournament called the AB3 Masters back home on the 29th and I hit two 18 dart legs, with another player hitting a 16. That's a group of absolute steamers, with me having played for a year at that point!

Would have been plenty of 60-dart double 1 epics in there too I'd imagine, ho ho!

PDC has all the dosh and the glitz, BDO has the heritage and the grassroots system. It's all darts at the end of the day though.

(That said, I would sooner be a spectator at a BDO event, the PDC crowds are absolutley horrific!)

LDDL hostilities resume on Thursday too, and it's the Skite derby to get the new year started, spicy!

Our singles stats go up on the League Republic site until the league split: I was on W4 L1, then lost four in a row, three of them on t' bastard doubles! Evened it up last week with a slighty jammy win over yer uncle, and it's Croon Lassies O'Clock on Thursday.

Sounds like your team are throwing alright tho. How does it work with the fixtures - does the home captain write down his teama and then the away captain adds his to make the fixtures?

Apart from that first game against the Cheebs when nearly half our team was missing offshore/injured/etc, we have been playing better than last year. Scots Corner is usually a slam-dunk 9 nil anyway! (There are quite a few offshore workers that play in the league, the Queens in Bervie have virtually two seperate teams depending who's away or not! We only have two, thankfully.)

LDDL matches are 3 pairs games then 6 singles, best of 3, straight in. Fixtures are done on a random draw by the captains: usually you put your crack players first, but we tend to try and second guess the other captains and mix it up week by week. Sometimes it works, sometimes it backfires horribly!...

Sounds like your not too far off the pace! DIDO is an utter nightmare if yer not totally firing on your doubles. Luckily I'll only suffer it if I draw a woman in one of the cup competitions: one guy last year in the mixed trips was still on 501 when the lassie he was playing got down to 60. He still eventually won because she couldn't hit a double either!

Two straight 7-2 defeats for us against the Sally and Scots Corner, but the former game was a lot closer and saw a few game darts begging (mine included:(). Croon on Thursday is our best hope of a win before the second half of the season comes...

Their current boss is former Montrose boss David Robertson, so he might have actually seen Mackie play a couple of times before signing him. No excuse for that. Robertson played for Aberdeen as well didn't he? I know he played for DIRTY LEEDS at some point too.

Worst Montrose boss ever. That side will be fuck-awful to watch.

Thursday: League darts night in Luthermuir. Drink beers, throw spears, get thrashed, go home.

Friday: Birthday. Out for a meal early evening, poker home game then probably the Western for some beers.

Saturday: Badminton in the morning if fit enough. Football in the afternoon followed by large bender, with a likely ending of violent spewing outside the kebab shop in Stoney at 3.30am.

Sunday: Die quietly.
