So Scottish referees do it again with an abysmal performance from John Beaton in the St Johnstone v Celtic game. Highlights on BBC website for those who haven't seen it.

Beaton has always been up there with the worst, damning indictment of the state of refs if he's let loose in the premier. Did almost exactly the same thing at Station Park once when a Montrose forward was clogged in the box and got a yellow for diving. He backed away from the Mo end quickly enough when he saw the mass stream of blue firing down the terrace to give him 'kind words' about his decision....

Stoney half marathon on Sunday.  Feeling like shit this week though so not looking forward to it.  Forecast is crap as well.  Nevermind, everything will come good on the day I hope.

Lot of kudos to the United youth system. Also nice to see the days of promising young players being hoovered up below valuation to Ra Sellick or Sevco are well and truly over. Not seduced by a move down south either.

Good move for the lad: he's got the right work ethic about him and will be much better served going through the SL system, rather than being clogged every week in the SPL...

Actually feel a little bit sorry for Hodgson - the Nigels are playing a far better type of football from the last few tournaments, but a couple of defensive brainfarts later and they're probably going out.

Well done Scorge.  The most important thing is finishing in one piece.  Lots of positives to be taken from that.  Running strong and injury free being the main ones.

 

Was stuck in a psychological halfway house because concentrating on building up distance is priority #1,  but wanted to make a decent stab at this race.

The downsides - it's 6 and a half minutes slower than last year, and a touch off target. Ran the first 5 too conservatively, went in the wrong starting pen (again), and made a mess of the 5k water stop. On the plus side, it's the first time I've managed 10k without stopping since last year, I kept going faster as the race went on, and my ankle/kness behaved themselves, even when I gunned the last 400m.

Content, rather than delighted.

Good luck to the lad though - one of the rare highlights of watching Steven Tweed's hugely-imbalanced rock-bottom Montrose side was watching him develop into a player. Deserves a good move.

Nae really TBH. Took 66 minutes for the mock 10k, albeit in unhelpful weather. Sub 1hr will take a miracle, aiming for 62/63 now.

That's Locke out at Hearts. Seems a bit harsh. I thought he did alright given the circumstances. At least deserved a shot at getting them back up.
