  7. I can't comment much on the two punk bands because I never listen to punk so don't have any constructive criticism for them. Probably both were decent at what they do but as I don't know what they're meant to be doing/ achieving then I'll leave it at that. Ascension: Pretty good. I heard Gregor play before from the Metal Militia days so knew of his talent in advance. Some good riffs too. Other guitarist with the warlock was pretty good too. I kinda tired of the 80's-ness of it lol! It seemed like I could sing Judas Priest perfectly over it. But good again for what it was. Weeping Jesus: I will probably be biased as this is my sorta thing! Some playing is a bit loose at times but if it's going to stay as an intentional trait then it's all good. I wish they had a longer set as they (if not rated highly thus far) will be a good band soon enough. There isn't much stuff that the growly vocals Richard provides would work in but I think that what is backing him suits very well. Very syncopated at times (with one of the choruses I thought he was non-deliberately off but doing the same each chorus showed me otherwise) and holding it well when coming out of syncopation showed you guys can handle the changes well enough. All in all, I'm a metal person and like it heavier so would say for my preference of bands from last night (playing, not JUST genre), I'd go :- Weeping Jesus Ascension Shatterhand Dirt Box James
  8. I'll be there. I will get in fine won't I? Being 17.. James
  9. re The way I see it, with online stuff - which tends to have no warranty - I'd rather buy local so I'm better safe than sorry, just in case ya know?! Working in R&B kinda influences my decisions to buy local. I understand that if people see stuff cheaper from say Merchant City (their prices ARE excellent) then fair do's, go to them. As Narc said, if asked something can usually be done on the prices, or stuff thrown in or whatever, but I guess if not asked I wouldn't go and look around before finalising the sale to make sure others don't do it cheaper! Also, if often buying local from the same place, you become known and will get stuff for better prices than the tag states, or at least I've seen examples of that being the case before. All in all, personal preference, if you don't wanna shop somewhere, you don't! James

  13. I'd be quite reluctant to sell for as low as 250. But meh, I guess if no-one on here wants it I'll have to try eBay and family members James
  14. Hey dude. Me and Stuart (drummer) are in need of a bassist. We play Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, Machine Head etc. type stuff, nice heavy riffery! We're 17. PM me if you wanna maybe jam sometime. James
  15. re Just curious but why not? Its 800 new. Its in good condition. If I ask 500 I'll be more lenient on budging to what I'm expecting. James
  16. Hello folks. Title sums it up. 2 years old. Asking 500 I'd consider trade for a Washburn Dime which has a hardtail though. Someone b uy it. NOW!!.... please Cheers, James
  17. Hello all. In the future I'm planning on purchasing a Washburn Dime 3 or a USA Dean Dime. I'm one for the high quality gear you see and don't want a licensed Floyd or shitty Mahogany... So I'm curious, who has played a decent Dime and can you possibly be so kind to tell me about it. What do you run it through? Hows the high end? Clear? Crisp? What about bottom end? How it should be? And so forth. Cheers peoples, James
  18. I'll be blunt and skimp on lotsa detail for now, PM if interested, really really want someone to fill this slot... Me and my drummer are forming a Slayer/Metallica/Pantera/Machine Head influenced metal band. I'll be playing mostly rhythm with some leads. We have a bassist coming along (he's still getting to grips with the thing ) and we need a vocalist. Basically someone that can do the aggressive Araya stylings, the decent Hetfield audible shit, and strength and versatility e.g. Anselmo or Corey Taylor. Confidence helps too. We are 17 if that makes much difference to those interested. James
  19. re You could always go to R&B and ask Ivor James
  20. re Yo Dave, I'm the guy that was wearing the Slayer T-Shirt on Saturday, count me in James
  21. Yeah thats us! How do you know us? See, if we have a bassist more into playing real metal (not slagging SJ, she played well ) then it'll kick maximum arsehole. A singer would have helped at the talent show. James
  22. re Na its not choosing it for the name, its more the fact that apparently it will give better bottom end from being bigger than traditional 4x12s. I'll need to give the Powerball a try as I've heard nothing but good things about it. I essentially want a Boogie tone but also be able to replicate the kinda sound Slayer got on 'God Hates Us All'. Now I know they use JCM800's but I don't want one of those. I've heard that the powerball can give both of these tones. Its basically getting a Slayer type tone out of the Mesa without being really loose and muddy thats a problem. Any more advice greatly appreciated! James
  23. re Uh.. banned? Huh? What forum should it be in? I was unsure James
